All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

No, but the movement has to be something that he would do on the snap of the ball. In other words, the movement causes the TE to move as if he thought the ball was snapped. People are really saying, the TE was set (in a two pt. stance), and he can't reset? Have you watched how many times a game our TEs, both on and off the LOS shift and reset?

Standing upright and pointing at a guy in the neutral zone isn't that. Nowadays there is so much shifting/resetting, standing up to look at the sideline for a playcall or change, and pointing out protection/blitzes, they aren't going to call that sort of thing.

******** about the offsides/non-offsides call is dumb to me. First, if there's no contact, the ball isn't snapped, and the description of movement by the offensive players doesn't necessarily fit the description of a false start.

Second, even if it was, Purdy gets a big gain and a first down on the next play, so it literally had zero impact on the game at all.

I've seen numerous time that Soehner has been set in a 2 point stance and flinched then gets flagged for a false start. What's your point?

I totally agree with you, and frankly passing it off like they can grade every play without knowing the play calls and assignments is disingenuous at best. I just know a certain poster used PFF often to make absolute statements like they were unimpeachable so I figured everyone here loved PFF.
BuschLatte hates PFF because they rank ISU’s o-line really low.

In that case He flinched as if he thinks the ball is being snapped. That’s a false start. Sitting in your two point stance and pointing at a guy that jumps offsides is not. Standing up and looking at the sidelines is not. Moving around and shifting presnap is also not.
Again, guys stand there and point out protections and blitzers all the time.
The point is you can move from a two point stance pre snap. It’s only a false start if you cross the LOS or move in a way that you would if the ball was snapped.

The point is it would’ve only been offsides if one of the following happened:
- the ball is snapped when the defender was in the neutral zone.
- There was contact with an offensive player
- The defense jumping causes movement by an offensive player that would’ve otherwise been a false start.
My point is none of those things happened. The type of movement people are describing by ISUs players are legal pre-snap movements.

Kolar popped up, stepped forward, then jumped. That is not legal pre-snap movement. The officials froze, they are humans so it happens.

Saw this done by @cyclone4L on the football forum, and thought I’d give it a shot for the hawks.
EARLY SIGNING DAY SUPERLATIVES

Most Likely to play early:
Keegan Johnson.
Very similar skill set to ISM and ISM started in his 2nd career game ever.

Most Likely to have fans yell "Put him in": Joey Labas. Because Duh.

Best Pro Prospect: Beau Stephens. He’s already physically ready to play. He’s going to be one the scouts will love.

Fastest: Keagan Johnson
Not sure on his clocked speed. This class was more focused on the lines so not to much speed but Keagan looks pretty quick.

Most Likely to be a fan favorite: Cooper Dejean. Looks like a typical Hawkeye safety that’s going to make the big hits and create a lot of turnovers. Reminds me a lot of Tyler Sash.

Most Polished: Max Llewellyn. He looks like he might be ready to go right away. High motor, high upside kind of guy.

Rawest Talent: Gennings Dunker. Big strong guy who looks like a mauler. Needs to work on technique but looks like a road grater up front.

Most likely to come out of nowhere: Karson Sharar. Not a super well known prospect, but he looks like a diamond in the rough. Good burst, with some very good speed for a linebacker. He obviously needs a lot of work, but he’s got the makings of the next great unknown linebacker under KF.

Future Hawkeye Hall of Famer: Jeremiah Pittman. His tape reminds me a lot of Daviyon Nixon who is going to be in the Hawkeye HOF one day.

Player who doesn't get enough respect: Connor Colby. He’s kind of overlooked, due to the two big name guys in Stephens and Davidkov. He’s one that will be well respected guy in the Big 10 by the time he leaves.

Who are all the great unknown LBs under Kirk?
