Herbie just being stupid again this morning.

Now he wants to go back to only two teams making it instead of 4 because now the games just don't matter. Wut? You think because 4 teams get in that games during the season don't matter? The reason games don't matter during the season is because teams like tOSU don't have to play even 6 games, and don't have to beat anyone in order to get in..... that's why games don't matter anymore.

They've been on the ACC championship for a really long time. Next should be there SEC and then as the show is ready to wrap, they'll touch on the Big 12.

Yeah.... they can get to talking about the Big 12 Championship anytime now. It's been all ND and Clemson.

I'm sure they'll get there, but it sounds like it will be about how much better OU is playing now than they were earlier in the season when they lost to ISU..... I don't think they will be giving us much credit. Hope I'm wrong.

And why do they keep calling Matt "Matty"? Is that a thing now? Is that how he likes to be referred to?

I think he’s right about the current system leading to opt outs and sitting out bowl games. It’s why we need an 8 team playoff. Less players will feel like they have nothing to play for

This. The solution is to give more teams a chance, not less. The CFP isn't the only thing making the other bowl games less important, there are just simply too many. Once upon a time a bowl game was an accomplishment, now you go if you're .500(sometimes not even that). People don't care about those bowls because they just aren't intriguing matchups, it has nothing to do with the CFP.

I mean who could’ve seen this coming when they went with a playoff

Yep. Make the playoff be 8 teams.... and eliminate a lot of bowl games (which won't happen).

Having only 2 teams make it in will only make games mean less during the season..... and make more guys choose not to play in bowl games, etc.

I am still on the side of 6 teams. This makes the conference games matter, and the conference championship is a defacto playoff game. Winner gets in. 6th slot is for the top Group of 5 as long as it is ranked in the top 15 or so. It essentially is an 11 team playoff. 10 teams from the P5 and one more. Yes I realize Notre Dame presents a problem in this scenario, but they do now most years honestly when they are independant.

I agree that they need to expand. However, with the game of football being so physical, having a first round bye is way too much of an advantage for the top 2 seeded teams. Needs to be 8.

My real dream is to reorganize into 8 10-team conferences, no conference championship games, all round robins, champions get into playoff. But that’s way too tidy for CFB.

This could also allow for some huge non conference matchups, they essentially wouldn't matter so why not match up all the top teams.

Does anyone else remember the year tOSU lost to Purdue by a lot but Rece and others on the show back then just farted it off as a bad game, because tOSU was playing so well by the end of the year?

So a bad loss earlier in the year, or only playing half the games doesn't matter if you recruit well and are a blue blood. But for the ISUs of the world, every game matters!

Been watching for about an hour, they have talked about our game for maybe 3 minutes.

Great, even more ND Clemson talk

Wasn't there a year when tOSU lost to an unranked VT team early in the year, but they said that didn't matter because it was "months ago". But now losing to a RANKED Louisiana team "months ago".... is a disqualifier. Strange how that works.

The Reces of the world essentially treat Iowa State like a mid major and they are so used to mid majors needing to be undefeated that they can't seem to comprehend we played a significantly harder schedule. And part of that harder schedule is playing power 5 teams week in and week out as exemplified by the Florida/LSU game.

Rece has high rollers feeding him bs Or he’s a complete ******* tool. There’s no in between

I love Bear's comments. Hell, he thinks Iowa State will win outright.

Damn Covid! I would be at this game if I could.
