Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Well, we won the West division in 2015. ISU has not won any type of title yet in football this season. That can all change on Saturday though.
No, you just mentioned there are no regular season champions. You gotta win the CCG. Back pedaling now.

Finishing alone in first place in a round robin conference is more impressive than winning one game IMO

Too bad the conference that you play in doesnt recognize this. Honest question, do you think ISU will win its first conference title in over 100 years on Saturday?

Not saying it is or isn't, just that winning the Big 12 title game is the one that counts to be labeled conference champs. Not saying it is fair, just the way it is.

I said there are no regular season conference champions in football which is true. Iowa did win the West division. Iowa fans dont claim the 2015 B1G title even though we were the only team to finish the regular season with an undefeated conference record.

Iowa State is Regular Season Big 12 Champions

Which is a title that only exists to ISU fans and the guy/girl that is in charge of the ESPN bottom line.

You are claiming a conference title that the conference doesnt even recognize.

Yeah, remind me the conference games against MSU, OSU, Michigan that year. A conference division title is a regular season conference title. It would only be bad if you hang a banner for it. Does Iowa?

I'm pretty sure they do and should imo. I also saw on the telecast this past saturday that there was a banner for the 1922 Iowa team for national champions. Not sure if that is new or not, but I hadn't seen it before. So that is 2 national champions that Iowa recognizes in football with 1958 being the other.

I am not claiming a division title is the same as the conference title. In fact, my post clearly said Iowa fans dont claim a conference title even though we had the best record by a game after the regular season ended. MSU won the conference title that year because they beat Iowa in the title game.

How about your scores against the 1st, 2nd , 3rd place teams in the other division? You have to be 2-1 against those teams I’m guessing.

Says the guy who has been worked up for years about Iowa's recognized NCAA tourney berth in 2014.
Everyone knows Iowa State was the Regular Season Big 12 Champions. Everyone also knows a play in game loss doesn't count as a tourney appearance

What are you doing here?

No Iowa fans are claiming the 2015 B1G title because we lost in the B1G title game to Michigan State.

This is sad.

You are claiming a conference title that doesnt even exist and discrediting an NCAA tournament berth that is officially recognized as a berth in the tournament.

Why do you feel the need to claim a fake title when your team still has a legitimate shot at winning the real title on Saturday?

You are talking about being the only undefeated team in the conference. I am asking if there was a reason that may have lead to other teams suffers loss compared to Iowa not. We round Robin, you guys don’t. I think it would be foolish scheduling to have one side have a team skip the three best teams on the other side.

Iowa was undefeated in 2015 in regular season conference play which was a better record than anyone else in the B1G during regular season conference play that season.

It sounds like your beef is more with the B1G people that created the schedule than with Iowa fans who never claimed a conference title in 2015 because we lost the title game to MSU.

You have a banner claiming a division title. That’s a regular season conference title. You have an issue with ISU this year.
