Iowa vs Michigan. Alternate game vs BIG championship.

This is the way I see both the Iowa vs MI and the IN vs Purdue game. If Iowa or IN win, they beat another 2 win team. They are both playing teams, that at time have shown some sort of life, and MI certainly has better players than most 2 win teams. Losing those games would be a disaster for the Big 10.
Nightmare scenario for the B1G: OSU loses to NW, IU loses to Pursue, and Michigan cancels.

Do you ever think about how odd it is how little you post on the ISU forums?

Your ISR to ISU forum post ratio has to be 35:1 or 40:1, at least.

Seriously?

You are actually researching and counting posts someone makes on here?

You really come to a rivals site, posting incessantly and observe your rivals posting habits, on their own site?

There is a bunch of gum-flapping, bullshitting on here but that is probably the one of the most pathetic behaviors I have seen around here. You need help.

I wouldn't be surprised if this game doesn't happen. Will see. No-win situation for Iowa.
Was looking forward to a match up vs. UI. Loved the H2H concept, considering the year. What a way to draw viewers for East vs. West, may the best division win. Ironically, it would likely have been the West; who takes a lot of heat compared to East.

They couldn’t pass up a good an opportunity for b10 to further game the system. :(

Bull****. Iowa will (undeservedly) climb in the rankings again this week. Beating an absolute garbage Michigan team will likely put them near the Top 10 (maybe even in the Top 10, if some unexpected teams lose). This was a power play by the B1G to try to steal two NY6 spots on top of the undeserved Playoff spot.
It's no accident that Iowa is known nationwide as the fake ID of college football.

The amount of breaks uofi get each year is mind boggling.

Not sure I see this as much of a break for Iowa. Michigan cancels, Iowa's screwed. Michigan wins, Iowa's screwed. Iowa wins, Iowa's screwed. Beating a really bad Michigan team won't do much in terms of moving up the bowl pecking order. Pretty much just hoping for a Purdue win over IU at this point.

Same trophy ISU got for winning the "regular season" Big 12 championship.

still more impressive than any title Iowa has ever won since the mid 1980's. All alone in first at the end of the reg season is better than "shared" titles with teams you didn't even play. Or with teams that you lost to. Enjoy the championship game against the 2 win Skunk-bears.

Iowa has been climbing the rankings after beating terrible team after terrible team. What is to stop Barta from putting Iowa in the top 12-13 after their glorious win over Michingan?

I know it sucks, having that kevin guy as your conference's commissioner. Iowa has beat 6 of the teams they should have. I get it, totally. But it really looks like you're upset with Iowa State football and the success we're having this season.

On Friday... at 3 p.m.
As if we needed more proof Nebraska is the red-headed stepchild of the Big 10.

The original idea for this weekend was a great idea,2 vs 2, 3 vs 3 etc... that went out the window when they altered the plan to protect the bowl positioning of teams like Indiana and Iowa. Hawks/Hoosiers would have been a really good game but the b1g is going to crazy measures to ensure make up for the lost revenue caused by their terrible decision to cancel the prematurely cancel the season.
Nah, I don't think this is it nearly as much as they're just playing the rivalry games.

Nightmare scenario for the B1G: OSU loses to NW, IU loses to Pursue, and Michigan cancels.
Why not have Michigan win?

Hawks are already 16. You honestly think they won’t be top 12 or 13 if they win again next weekend?

I just don't get why the trolls have so much trouble understanding the purpose of the ISR forums. It is for us (on our website) to talk about (and laugh at) our in-state rivals. Idiot trolls seem to think it was set up as a place for them to be welcomed to post.

Because that is exactly what we would do. Set up a section of OUR team's website forum specifically because we want to hear what our most idiotic and heated rivals have to say about anything.
Like a Cyclone fan can't just walk down Main Street in any Iowa town and get a Hawkeye's opinion on Cyclone athletics.

I can't imagine why most of the B1G schools would not be outraged by the conference's manipulation of the schedule. Everyone thought their last game would be against equal competition. But instead, since there are so few schools with a winning record, those few schools have all been assigned a home game against inferior competition so as to essentially ensure a win and thus improve the attractiveness of those few teams to the bowl selection committees. The other ten teams and their fans are simply pawns being sacrificed for tOSU and the King's court. IMO, of course.

I do believe the last time Iowa won a conference title outright while playing every opponent in their conference was 1896, so regardless how hawk fans want to spin it, winning the regular season outright while playing EVERYONE is kind of a big deal.
Yep. What Campbell did during the regular season was unprecedented in the state.

Hell Iowa hasn't won even won an outright regular season conference title since 1985

Question. Since the B1G played zero OOC games and have just beat up on each other...how does anyone know how good or bad the B1G really is? Some of teams with losing records probably would have 2-3 more wins with OOC.

B12 had 1 OOC game each and they were all sunbelt type cupcakes....

Nobody really knows how good any of the conference’s are this year because:p there just weren’t any quality OOC games.
Probably should have expanded the playoff to 8 games this year for that reason alone.
