Iowa vs Michigan. Alternate game vs BIG championship.

Originally the conference was going to play 1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, etc all the way down each division this week to give everyone an extra game. Kind of stupid, but given the shortened season I get it. But that didn't work out so they just have a random mess of games this weekend.

On a bright note, the losers on 600 WMT this morning were talking about Iowa participating the "Big 10 Championship Weekend" with this game. Holy hell that is some mental gymnastics but some white trash hillbilly in Southeast Iowa heard that this morning on his way to Casey's in his 1988 geo metro, yelled to himself "go hawks" and took that as gospel.

I thought the East v. West matchups was a cool idea. Much has obviously happened in the time since, so they're now using the weekend to let some of the traditional rivals who had their games canceled play. Makes sense.

I wouldn't be surprised if this game doesn't happen. Will see. No-win situation for Iowa.

Yep, Alvarez really screwed Iowa over here. Iowa needed to play Indiana for basically a play-in game for a NY6 bowl. Now Iowa doesn't get that chance because Alvarez wanted Wisconsin to play Minnesota and the dominos fell from there. Sucks.

The Big 10 did the right thing. The Indiana vs Purdue rivalry game is more important (as is Wisconsin vs Minnesota).

Iowa was on the wrong side of it but **** happens
You're mad Iowa gets another free win?
