December 11-12 Weather Thread

6-7 inches on the deck, maybe more in spots and 4-5 inches on the driveway here in Altoona. It's kind of variable because of the wind. Haven't been out in it, but it looks pretty heavy. Can't tell if there's any ice under it.

Yep. I'm watching a big heavy-duty 3500 4x4 pickup with a blade doing my neighbor's drive. He's having a tough go at it because it's so heavy. He's gotten stuck a couple of times already.

Really? I’m outside of Runnells and think I’ll be able to handle this stuff with my 4 wheeler. Ready to go. Just waiting for it to be done snowing for good.

Is now the appropriate time to commence the single vs two stage debate?

My neighbor was in ahhh at how fast my single stage 5 hp Toro went through the boulders that were left once the plow went by. They have a two stage and her husband said it’s no good it wet heavy snow as the chute always plugs up.

My Toro is great in slushy snow too. Pretty nice get for the fact someone had it on a swap site for nothing. Spent $3 for a primer bulb and just cleaned it up.

Toro is an underrated brand IMO. I’ve always been a fan since my great grandpa would let me drive around on of his old Toro riders with the trike handles. Probably the first gas powered wheeled vehicle I ever drove by myself.

Seems like 5” or so in Adel. Realized this morning that I didn’t have fuel or cold start for my snowblower. Stupid me. Shoveled our whole driveway and side walks. I’m tired.
