Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

I think everyone here knows they are good this year. Other than still being unathletic, for all the years this group has been together, their defense still leaves a lot to be desired. I have no illusions we will win, maybe even a blow out considering how mr. blow dry and that group hate ISU. But Tyler Harris is exactly the type of guard that gives the Hawks fits. Like to see him hit a few of his first outside shots and make someone on that team come out and try to guard him.
 
If Iowa can shoot well from 3 for the rest of the year they'll be awfully tough to beat.
I thought Carolina's guys just threw up a lot of interior slop on offense. That's not discrediting Iowa, just some real weird shots within 10'.

Well Niang "hated" Iowa too. This was a huge game for him. And he wasn't from Iowa either.
 
I think UNC has a nice frontcourt and depth there..Their backcourt offensively and defensively was atrocious. They had like 20 TO's and couldn't hit the back board to save their life. Keep in mind UNC finished dead last in ACC last year...they were awful.

Now i think this UNC team has more talent and is better but does Iowa even win that game if they don't hit a record 18 threes?

I doubt we see another game this year where Iowa shoots 40 threes and makes 43%..

If you cannot shoot threes vs Iowa you likely arent gonna win.

He's VERY skilled.... like Niang...... but not athletic.

Iowa is very good obviously.... been saying it all night. Great shooters everywhere.... and Garza will dominate most teams on the interior and can take it outside too. I fully expect Iowa to just blow the doors off ISU, and early too.

Iowa can win it all if their outside shots are falling. Defense is really their only weakness.
 
If I were a NBA GM I'd take Garza mid to late 2nd round and take a chance on the kid's skills and effort. But one mock I saw had him as the 79th best pick..... and there's only 60 draft picks total in the draft.

Garza is an amazing college player. Definitely early 2nd rounder IMO. He would be a great project/Energy guy off the bench.
