Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

You comparing Iowa to what Wisconsin was under Ryan? Wisconsin actually put players into the NBA and IIRC they passed on little JoBo after having his brother/s.

They had Kaminsky and Dekker drafted in 2015, then Jon Leur drafted in the second round in 2011 and Alando Tucker drafted in 2007. That isn't all that much.

They routinely had guys in their program for 3-5 years and used the redshirt on non-injured players. To say that having 7 guys in your program for an extended period of time is rare, which is what the comment said that I responded to, is not true.

How many players has Iowa had drafted in the last 8 years (going with the 07-15 similar length)

Ok, if you go that route, now compare their NCAA tourney resumes for eight years. Did Wisconsin ever make the second weekend?

He isn't comparing Iowa's success to WIsconsin's? He is just saying that you can build a program on non-nba players and on players that stay for 4 or more years. Wisconsin has proven that.

The last 8 years results for Wisconsin when an NCAA tournament was held:

First Round Loss
Did not make the tourney
Sweet 16
Sweet 16
Runner Up
Final Four
First Round Loss
Sweet 16

And the program will routinely be mediocre. I believe you need a few guys there for 3-4 years, if they had to redshirt its best to not count on them in today’s game, but it better not be the whole roster.

Amazingly similar to Iowa’s! You got me there!

You're an idiot. This all started from @Cyinthenorth saying no program keeps more than a couple guys around for 4-5 years. Wisconsin basketball disagrees.

To think you cant build a program with 4-5 year guys is stupid. Look at all the mid majors every year that make the round of 32 or sweet 16 with guys that are not good enough for the NBA.

Nunge and Fredrick are the only guys on Iowa's roster that took a RS not because of an injury. Nunge got a 6th year because of an injury but thats not why he redshirted his 2nd year on campus.

Iowa=mid-major I’m getting from this.

Maybe you can if you play defense. Iowa doesn't do that.
