Did you bring this up to bash on Nascar like so many people like to do?
Also, do you think that Fox could have found a couple of pictures maybe from within the past two years for their story?

I brought it up because who gives a flying RIP if NASCAR loses some money with all of the people that will be without JOBS or a way to pay their everyday BILLS.
NASCAR has been screwing advertisers, networks, and their fans with their ad prices, ticket prices, etc for years.
I am sure Jeff Gordan and the rest of the "I turn left for a living" millionaires will survive just fine.
I could say the exact same thing about the NFL, NBA, College Bowls, etc, etc, etc. Where are the threads ripping on those?
They aren't whining about how much the economy is hurting their business and asking for govt bailouts. At least yet anyway.
Think about your statement for a second. How many people will be without jobs if Nascar fails? Advertising companies would have to eliminate jobs. Employees at tracks across the country would lose their jobs. I'm not going to go through the entire trickle effect... but your statement doesn't make much sense to me.
I will be watching this development with interest...while sipping on my Diet Pepsi, munching on Doritoes, and popping a viagra.
Think about your statement. You are saying that losing NASCAR is going to have the same effect as losing the Big 3? Are you serious?
NASCAR isn't going anywhere, they may just not be able to charge what they used to. Big deal. They need to quit their whining.
Isn't that just like any other business that fails? In the case of NASCAR, I doubt that it will go away entirely. But it could end up with the same fate as the NHL.

On a different note, come to Michigan and work with me for a week. You might get a better idea of what the Big 3 really is. I'll show you thousands of employees who are laid off and making 95% of their salary. Thousands of employees who grew up with a sense of entitlement, expecting to make six figures to screw in one bolt every 5 minutes. The Big 3 needs a shakeup, a bailout without a legit plan is just going to keep this ugly machine in motion for another couple years.
I agree with you 100%. I just don't see the need for freaking NASCAR to whine about it when there are real people that will be hurting. The fact that they think the deserve any kind of sympathy over the situation is laughable.
Just keep in mind that these 'real people' are also the ones that choose to spend their money supporting NASCAR.
And for the record, I don't like or hate NASCAR... I'm just exposed to their fan base on a daily basis.
Actually, running the bases only requires three left turns, so that makes NASCAR 33% more complicated than baseball. :wink:
