Not sure I'd use the term better. More total wins? Yes, but barely. 6 more wins for all those better recruiting classes? Seems like Iowa isn't doing enough with what it gets.
You sure are salty now the isu is having some success.
I like this isu squad. Campbell is a really good coach and all the players seem pretty likable.
They deserve all the praise they are getting.
That is more than one win a year and probably at least a 10 spot difference in rankings so not sure what you are getting at. Iowa has ranked 18 spots better than ISU over the time span according to Sagarin.
Now if you really want to see who isn't getting the most out of recruiting classes, look at ISU bball. Woof!
Prohm is too good of a recruiter. That is why his roster is so bad each year lately.
Dont watch much basketball, he can recruit though and has won the conference a few times.
IMO recruiting rankings in MBB are fools gold. Prohm has gotten some talent, but how much does it help when you have guys declaring after 1-2 years? And that's not even counting the transfer portal, where some players will bolt if they aren't getting minutes their first year. The sweet spot is finding players like Niang, Naz, Garza, Bohannon that are good players and will stick around. ISU is going to lose a lot of games this year...they're young and lost maybe their best player for the season. Not to mention the B12 is super tough. It sucks, but if there was ever a year to do it, this is it.
Yeah, ISU should have tried to get Bohannon before Iowa got involved.
Also, same could be said for Iowa football with Fant, Hockenson, Amani Hooker, Wirfs, Epenesa, Geno Stone, Anthony Nelson, Josh Jackson, and James Daniels all declaring early. But yet, Iowa has still won more games than ISU.
I hope you understand how it hits basketball harder than football.

You can’t be serious. Basketball rosters turn over all the time with transfers out and in, that is the norm. Didn’t hurt Fred losing all conference studs every year.
It sure is, but that is still a lot of underclassmen that left the Iowa football program in a short amount of time and they kept winning.
We’re still talking probably 10% of a roster as compared to 40-50+%.

Football is completely different, declaring early means your still there for three years.
