Iowa Football Recruiting

So in basketball regular season Champs are what matter but in football the postseason Champs are what matter?

They both matter, but I think in basketball the more impressive one is the regular season. But I would be happy with either one.

Call it what you want, but over here where every team plays every other team, conference standings mean something. I am sure after years of middling in the B1G West while not playing all of the meaningful teams you are ready to ignore it.

Recognizing ISU as the Big 12 champs if they lose in Dallas would be such an ISU thing to do.

Since the 2016 season, the hawks have been on average 10 spots higher in recruiting rankings per 247. And that has equated to zero CFP berths, zero conference titles, winning the division zero times, and 6 more total wins than ISU.

L.O.L

And Iowa has averaged 18 spots higher in the end of season sagarin ranking so I guess they are doing more with less than what ISU does.

Yea, those sagarin rankings.

The ones with hoks at #3 this year.

Some solid data there.

You play for sagarin rankings, we'll play for conference titles.

Just pointing out that while Iowa has finished 10 spots higher in recruiting rankings, they have also performed better on the field as well.

" From 2011 through 2016, the football champion was decided by regular-season play. Previously divisional titles were awarded based on regular-season conference results, with the teams with the best conference records from the North and South playing in the Big 12 Championship Game for the Big 12 title. Following changes in NCAA rules, the Big 12 will reinstate its football championship game in 2017, with the top two teams in the final conference standings advancing to the title game. Baseball, basketball, soccer, and tennis titles are awarded in both regular-season and tournament play. Cross country, golf, gymnastics, rowing, swimming and diving, track and field, and wrestling titles are awarded during an annual meet of participating teams. The volleyball and softball titles are awarded based on regular-season play. Softball previously held a post season tournament. "
What is this from?

Iowa is #7 in Sagarin.

You'll play for conference titles once every 100 years. LOL

I am sure by your standards, they have performed better.

This is where we can agree - A good thing to do this time of year.

You can rally around subjective rankings

We'll focus on the championships.

Then we can all walk away feeling good!
