The Fran fade

Two potentials with Iowa, shut down Garza and see if they can hit threes, or leave Garza alone and try to run him tired. 1) can they score enough with him getting 8-10 2) can he put up 60 points routinely and not wear down?

Kinda what I'm wondering. He is legit a top 3 player in the country won't deny that....but seems like all the eggs are in his basket.

I see Garza is getting his....is Iowa good enough if teams figure out how to slow him down they can still win big games? He may be that good it doesn't matter. However, I just don't see other people that scare me down the stretch. Think back to when we had Kane/Ejim/Niang....any one of those guys could hit a dagger with no time left.

I think its a lot easier said than done to "shut down Garza".

Hence my first post it may not even be possible. If that's the case, they just need to keep him healthy/rested when possible.

It’s kinda relative. If they double team him and wear him down so he is even partially off his game, how many points do you think he needs to score to keep you in games against the top 3 or so teams in the conference.

I mention top 3 as I’m assuming Iowa wants to win the conference and you can beat the northwesterns all you want but have to take care of business against the top 3s to contend. Not sure who they are or if you have an uneven schedule this year and who you do or don’t miss.

Our one plays are home games against Purdue, Nebraska and PSU and away games against Maryland, Illinois and Michigan.

Not terrible but not close to the break Illinois got in their schedule. They play Iowa, Rutgers, MSU, Michigan, Purdue and Maryland once.

Who do you think are your 3 toughest contenders for Iowa in the big ten?

Iowa's biggest obstacle to a great season will never play a minute of ball. He will however embarrass the team, the university, get t'd out of games, and regularly get out coached.

How does it feel to have a basketball coach that is outcoached more often by Fran than not?

1-lol
2-don't care

I'm sticking with my 6 seed prediction
I think you are being kind. Fran hasn't shown anything in his career at Iowa to even come close to this. Keep in mind that IA now has 3 viruses in that locker-room plus a Pandemic.
