This was interesting. I was a little surprised, but not totally, to see ISU doesn't even rank in the top 68 programs of all time using the formula in the article. I calculated what ISU's point total would be and I come up with 270 points (it is possible I missed a point or two). The Clones would probably not even crack the top 100.

When a program is largely off the map for 4 decades (mid-'40s to mid-'80s) it's hard to crack that list. If it was past 30 years, ISU would fare better (no guess at where it'd rank).

Something I hadn't realized: Arkansas hasn't made the Sweet 16 since 1996. Wow.

I remember being surprised by ESPN's ranking of us in the 2008, but there's only went back to 1984-85. We've improved our standings some since ESPN did theirs for sure.
 
Murray State at 44...didn't realize Prohm coming to Ames was a step down for him.
 
I mean, we were pretty terrible pre-Johnny, so that’s a lot of catch-up even with the modern success.

Surprised we aren’t a little higher, but whatever
