Kansas State

Briley Moore is K-State's best receiver. K-State was also without Skylar Thompson.
Moore is important to KSU for sure.

With that said, Wallace is one of the best WRs in the country. Hubbard is one of the best RBs as well, bummer that he isn’t healthy.

Everyone knows that Thompson is a big loss for KSU.

How many years in a row have posters said we would handle K State? We should have beat them 3 years in a row, but our one win took a hell of a comeback to get. K State is well coached and will keep it close.
By that type of argument, we should never, ever beat OU, based on the last hundred years.

I literally just said we would beat K State. You're the one scoffing at the idea that it's going to be close when we've lost 11 of 12 and the games have frequently been within a touchdown except when K State beat the **** out of us. Hope this is finally the year we beat them convincingly.

Well we have only beaten OU about 5 times in hundred years so you're pretty spot on (granted ISU has done better the last few years vs OU). KSU has a running QB and ISU struggles with that. OSU allowing that much rush yardage is also concerning.

Two week break should help both teams get healthy but with COVID who really knows who might be out.
I don't think anyone from ISU will be coming back in two weeks that was out against BU. I think the two weeks will help KSU more, injury wise.

K-State has been the one team that has really ran the ball well against our 3 man front. They are incredibly one dimensional and like OU showed once you take away the run the can really struggle to move the ball.
Would love to see Heacock dust off the 4 man front for this game. Not saying abandoned the 3 man front. Just line up that way enough times to confuse KState's blocking scheme they will have ready for our 3 man front.

If anyone could pull that off, it would me our resident mad scientist of defense.

I'm not sure why we wait so long to start bringing pressure. There's been a couple games this year where we drop 8 in the first half but then ramp up the blitz in the second. When we bring pressure it really throws QB's off and they can't just run their timing routes like they can against cloud coverage.

Why let them grow accustomed to it by letting them see it in the first half?

On their board someone is probably saying, ISU is well coached and will keep it close....lol.

Using multiple fronts is fine, but since most teams use a four man front, I doubt we will confuse them one bit. Its second and third levels that could make things real confusing for an opponent. Of course blitz packages also can get confusing for offenses, especially a blocking back.

Not saying we will see that again and things have definitely worked themselves out but if you were a K-state fan watching the game we had with them down there last year, I don't know that you would say we were well coached.

Overall program I will defend that statement. To defend it on one game that someone else picks out is not possible. We agree.

While I do agree with that, I think K-State fans are also thinking that their football team hasn't looked great the past two weeks all things considered. They got boat raced by WVU and even though last week's game was close, they lost the game in a terrible fashion. If I were in their shoes I would not feel good about coming to Ames and playing us.

With that being said, as an Iowa State fan, even though we're sitting atop of the Big 12, I still don't have confidence in any game we play lol.

Here are some things I expect to see.

K-State will be more physical than us. And probably tougher.
K-State will make fewer mistakes.
K-State will win on Special Teams.

I am hoping Breece can shoulder the load and our OL can open up some running lanes for him. We are going to need to hit on a few big plays offensively and stop K-State from doing the same.

I hate K-State. Probably for all of the reasons I listed above. Otherwise I would like them.

Really nervous for this one, and will be a coinflip one score game again - but excited for the opportunity to get KSU +13-14... which would be my guess for the opening line. Easy money.
