Kansas State

If we win the next 2 and lose to WV, it would be a 3 way tie OU-OSU-ISU, and I think we are net positive against both of the Okies - which makes it guaranteed. Unfortunately Texas knows how to end a game in the clutch and KSU has more consistency, so I am not convinced we are the CCP favorite. We have 3 loseable games , OU-KSU-TX-OSU only have 2.
In this scenario, where ISU, OU and OSU are all at 7-2, the tie breaker would be based on how the teams did against the 4th place team (most likely Texas). Therefore ISU and OU would play in the championship since OSU lost to them.

You're right though, there's no scenario where ISU wins the next 2 and doesn't get in.

In the first half, against KSU, OSU got off only 28 plays for a total of 68 yards. OSU punted 6 times. Meanwhile a KSU receiver dropped a sure two point conversion that would have put them up 14-0.

In the second half OSU scored on a 85 yard fumble recovery. Later KSU missed a second two point conversion that would have tied the game.

Every KSU kickoff was planned to create a minimal runback risk. Pooch kicks fair caught at the 20 yard line to different areas of the field.

KSU is disciplined, ball control. No penalties. No mistakes. Always ahead of the chains. (The ONE turnover cost them the game.)

Year after year, KSU shows us the same look. We just don't have the patience and discipline.

I think we lose to KSU. I hope I am wrong.
Whatever you think KSU scores asd a touchdown to that because I have a feeling with their good special teams play and our lack of we spot them ST's score.

In my opinion we should punt out of bounds every time and on our kick offs have Corey Dunn drop kick and see if we can get a bounce our way. Take it out of their hands
It's like the Chicago Bears when they had Devin Hester. Chicago had nothing offensively. The ONE way they could beat you was if teams were stupid enough to kick it to Hester. Just don't kick it to him...same with Kansas State.

I think having the film of what Kstate did against Okie st will pay dividends, or atleast I hope so
Most times I can't decide whether they don't watch any film, or they just ignore it. Purdy is going to have understand, there will be times when he has to throw the ball in the stands or take a sack. I am not sure he can do that.

He actually did a great job of this in the OU game. I think he had like 5-6 throwaways.

I show his record coming off 7+ day byes at 4-5. What is remarkable is how close all of those games were.

2016: Lost to K-State 31-26 and beat Kansas 31-24
2017: Lost to Texas 17-7 and beat OU 38-31
2018: Beat Tech 40-31
2019: Lost to Iowa 18-17 and OU 42-41
2020: Beat TCU 37-34, Lost to Okie St 24-21, and ?? vs K-State

Kinda what I thought.. not great and expecting heartaches

He's making a concerted effort to reduce those types of throws. I'm more concerned about his decision making throwing into triple and double covered guys.

K-State beat oSu in most every phase of the game but lost on turnovers and missed plays by Will Howard.

Strengths are defense and special teams. The front four is stout. Linebackers and corners are pretty good. Safties are inconsistent.

K-State doesn't have a great returner but does have great return schemes and work special teams hard. Nonetheless, oSu shut them down. State's punter is average. Kicker is good.

ISU needs to shut down K-State's run game. Do that and they'll win it because the passing game is awful. If they don't or if somehow the passing game "marginally" improves, it will be a very long afternoon for Ames.

ISU should be a double-digit favorite. oSu was -12.5 going into Manhattan.

THIS.

If we had to no play, or whatever the BIG is calling it, our remaining three games, would we be the Big12 Regular season champs?

This is the key to beating KState. Oddly, the same is roughly true for KState beating ISU -- difference is they have to stop the best back in CFB.

Briley Moore, K-State fine tight end, and its best wide receiver (not saying much), Malik Knowles, did not play v. oSu.

This game will be a struggle for us and there will be melting down. I think we win by 6.

I think that would require us scoring only 6. Or maybe 13.

In Ames, and Jon Heacock is not going to have a problem with the dregs of KState’s offense. His defense will throttle their running game, and there isn’t much left after that.

How many years in a row have posters said we would handle K State? We should have beat them 3 years in a row, but our one win took a hell of a comeback to get. K State is well coached and will keep it close.
