How does virtual subbing work?

I imagine it varies by the place, but my sister is a sub teacher in IL. No in-person classes at present, but she is still required to drive to the school and be physically in the building while leading online classes as a substitute. Seems odd to me.

It was not uncommon for my coworkers to accuse me of trying to “weasel” my way out of stuff. I’ll be keeping my eye on this development.

If this works, I would think it could prevent the spread of other airborne diseases as well like the common cold. Interesting explanation in the article.

This guy is a u of I epidemiologist and worked on the data kim used to shape her response. My biggest takeaway is open beds isn't the important stat it is staffed beds

Bingo. I have two kids working in healthcare. We will run out of staff before we run out of beds.

Just saw on CNBC, Pfizer COVID vaccine, in early data is showing 90% efficacy. It’s still early from a results standpoint as they still need to monitor those participants longer. From the data, only 94 people had COVID, not sure how many people were in the total data set.

Watching the futures move was fun to watch. But the market knows that for the economy to move forward, people need to be able move around and travel without restrictions. Until that happens, the economy will be in standstill.

44,000 person trial*

94 cases
9 cases among ppl w/ 2 shots (protocol) No serious safety issues
All ages
70 more cases needed for completion

I lifted this from a tweet posted in the other thread. I'd link the tweet, but Bob doesn't like those.

Here's an article about the Pfizer one. Get that **** rolling for the people that I'm most afraid of getting sick.

Great news. From the NYT, Pfizer's results bode well for Moderna since they are similar. It'd be great if there are multiple options performing around 90%.

Eleven vaccines are in late-stage trials, including four in the United States. Pfizer’s progress could bode well for Moderna’s vaccine, which uses similar technology. Moderna has said it could have early results later this month.

That certainly is some great news. It's amazing that they went ahead and started manufacturing the vaccine even before approval. They must have been very confident of their research and developmental approach to solving it.

I think you kind of have to get ahead on distribution/logistics.
