Trade Baylor for Tulane

I feel like a lot of the Baylor hate is unwarranted at this point since most of the people that were associated with the disgusting crap that was happening there are long gone, but doing things like this when you had to cancel a game because of covid doesn't help their image.

Kim Mulkey is still there and she is one of the most tone deaf coaches I've ever heard.

TCU gives us a little nudge in recruiting, offering TX kids 2 more games in state in their career is plus but we don't need anymore TX schools. Adding WV basically means we have to expand with a team from east of the Mississippi. I have nothing against BYU but they just don't make sense geographically with the WV add. I feel like the big 12 was pretty thorough during expansion, if someone out there really made sense, they would have pulled the trigger.

It’s still the same fan base that was largely pissed Briles was fired. They deserve it.

I’m gonna get killed for this but I’ve been to New Orleans and it’s cool and whatever but it is EXTREMELY overrated. There’s a ton of cities I would rather go to much before going back to that place.
Everyone i know that's been to NO in the last 20 years says the same thing. That said, still better than Waco.

Is there a process to remove a team from the Big12? Vote of members? Non-renewal of revenue sharing contract? 5 years ago, we were that team, because we didn't add TV revenue, didn't add recruiting footprint, and were non-competitive in football. On the plus side, we have good enrollment, alumni support, campus, stadium, and fan support.

It isn’t really that ISU was that team. Once you have a conference with OU and UT, you could make that case about most schools.

If you have UT, only TAMU would be a big revenue producer. TTU is probably a minor plus, but Baylor and TCU don’t add anything.

As things shift toward new media models, schools with larger alumni and fans that are going to be willing to actively pay for content are going to be more valuable. The best indicator is who has fans show up to games. ISU is going to be fine moving forward. Or more accurately, ISU is a more attractive conference member in future models than many current P5 conference members that would’ve been considered safe in the old model.
