Trade Baylor for Tulane

I'm not really interested in elevating any more schools. TCU was a good add, but they had gotten a lot of exposure nationally by that point and should probably be looked at as the exception to the rule.

Unless you can nab the AZ schools, assuming the Pac continues to create malcontents, staying at 10 is best for the conference.
Personally I think TCU was a terrible add. Add a school nobody cares about where everybody is a UT or TAMU fan. Them being good doesn’t help the conference at all. I respect the hell out of their program and generally like them, but from a conference business standpoint they don’t help at all.

As a replacement for Tammy, it wasn't good - we were fortunate to be able to add WV in tandem.

I generally like them too. But no more private TX schools like SMU

BYU football-only should be a no brainer; the Mormon hate mystifies me.

Assuming Nebraska, Mizzou, & Colorado never want to return, Colorado State or Cincinnati would be solid additions. I’d even take Memphis over Tulane. I don’t understand the argument for the Green Wave. Their football tradition is about as relevant as Rice.

I don't hate BYU. I don't think they add much and I don't want our conference spread out over 3 time zones. If BYU was added with the Arizona schools and USC then I would be ok with it. That will never happen though.

In retrospect, not adding Louisville with WVU was a huge mistake

That’s why any invite should be football-only.

Don’t add anything? They certainly have a stronger football history than Tulane or some of the other candidates that get brought up. BYU would have the 3rd largest stadium in the Big 12.

How do either of those things help Iowa State or our conference? I'm not advocating for Tulane, but they at least expand our recruiting footprint.

I motion to name Knapp new commissioner

How good are you at filling empty slots?

I had a good run of filling empty slots. I was very thorough. Left no stone unturned and no door unlocked....

But I'm older now. Wiser. Realize that sometimes an empty slot is a win.

I feel like a lot of the Baylor hate is unwarranted at this point since most of the people that were associated with the disgusting crap that was happening there are long gone, but doing things like this when you had to cancel a game because of covid doesn't help their image.
