I'm surprised you're 2-1. I'm surprised that Purdy really hasn't played well. I'm surprised that you won 2 close games without any major special teams debacles. I'm surprised your pass defense hasn't been better (opposing QBs have over 160 passer rating). I'm surprised that after being thumped at home by Louisiana-Lafayette that you bounced back and won 2 in a row. That loss would have shattered some teams. That's quite a bit of surprise I guess.

I think his point is that this is a super weird year, and the Big XII appears to be really bad this year. If CMK is ever going to lead Iowa State to greater heights than 7-8 wins, this would be the year to do it.
