Because it's the most recent 25 years dating to current times...? Iowa just came off a season where they were widely considered better than ISU for the first time since...2005? Maybe?
The Lickliter era pretty much assured that. The years where the Davis - Orr eras intersected were, in my opinion, the most competitive and fun years the rivalry has ever seen. Both great men and great coaches with both teams playing a style of basketball that was fun to watch. The "good ol days" ! The rivalry was so much fun then. I could honestly say that I could never harbor an ounce of hate for Johnny no matter how hard I tried.
Maybe Iowa should concentrate on winning two games in their tournament first.
What year was it then? I picked a year that Iowa lost to a 14 seed in the tourney. That year was the last time prior to 2019-20 that Iowa fielded a better team than ISU. They proceeded to miss the tournament every year until 2014 when they got bounced in the play in round. I get it man, dark stretch of history for you, and it really hasn't been all that great even since then, save for having a first team AA and wooden finalist.

I'd rather lose first round of conference tournament and advance in the NCAA tournament than win the conference tournament and lose first round of the NCAA tournament. I know, I know, ISU fans would rather do the opposite, but you guys are kind of a weird bunch.
