All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

You think you were going to win the Big Ten West this year?
Yes I did. Wisconsin is down, Minny isn’t better then us, and Nebraska blows. We have a solid team and we gained some good transfers. Our D-line was going to be very good again, maybe better then 2009, and that’s what would have helped stopped wisky.

This ought to be good.

What is your basis on “Wisconsin is down”?

You have a new QB who's worse than Stanley and your defense was going to be way down. Minnesota and Wisconsin would have both been better than you guys. You can't be serious

I am serious. Minnesota has no defense, Wisconsin lost their only WR, the best RB in CFB, most of their defense, and one of the best centers in CFB who is now going to be an NFL starter. Minny lost like 9-10 starters in a defense that already wasn’t very good, they lost a very good WR, one of the most proven running backs in the B1G, and one of the best safety’s in college football. Iowa got a stud RT in the portal to replace Wirfs, they got an Honorable Mention All American in Heflin, Nixon is a stud, Gholston is a stud, and Waggoner was going to be very good judging off of how bad many teams wanted him. The defense also has two proven LB’s back and solid DB’s with Belton, Keorner, Hankins, Brents, and Moss. I’m not saying the defense was going to be better then last years because that defense was a top 2 Ferentz defense and was a championship level defense. I believe the offense was going to be better with Petras, Goodson, ISM, Smith, Tracy, and Ragaini being the best group of skill position players in the state. The offensive line was going to be very good. LaPorta was going to have a solid season.

Iowa was literally the only school that wanted Waggoner his senior year. Look at pre season All Conference teams. Your defense was going to be way down

PJ Fleck is a hell of a coach but he had a lot of holes to fill. They are recruiting at a much higher level now and should be better until he ditches them. That being said.... he hasn't figured Iowa out yet.

Waggoner had offers from multiple D1 universities. Only you could spin that as no one wanting him. Now I’m signing off for the day. I’ve got stuff to do.

Nobody wanted him and Iowa barely even took him. It's public knowledge the Register did a big story on it

I couldn't even get past the opening sentence.

Athlon pre-season All Conference:

1st team: None
2nd team: Golston
3rd team: Koerner
4th team: Hankins, Nixon

That's not good at all
The 2009 team had pretty similar preseason accolades. I don’t worry about preseason. None of that matters until you hit the gridiron.
