Drake was down by 3 with the ball deep in your territory late in that game I believe. 1 play would've done it.What 1 play happened in the Drake game? I'll give you UNI. That play by Purdy was so clutch
They got the ball to the 36 yard line on their last drive of the game. Couldn't kick a field goal that far in those conditions so the game was over after that.Drake was down by 3 with the ball deep in your territory late in that game I believe. 1 play would've done it.

Exactly. Anything could've happened. Weather, motivation, lot of factors there but it had to be enough to make Cyclone fans pucker their cheeks. My point is only that you can never take any wins for granted. Those type of games happen to everybody from time to time. They got the ball to the 36 yard line on their last drive of the game. Just looked it up. Drake had a 1st down on the ISU 26 with 6:00 left and got called for holding on 1st down. You must've been nervous?Drake turned the ball over on downs at the Iowa State 45 yard line with over 3 mins left and never got the ball back
I think it's fairly safe to assume Iowa State would have went 3-0 or 2-1 at worst in the non conferenceExactly. Anything could've happened. Absolutely. That's why I said it'd be stupid for any ISU fan to claim we actually had more wins than we actually end up with. You play the games on your schedule. That's all. Would we have beaten the other 3 teams in a normal season? Eh, probably go 2-1 at the worst, but we won't play those games so throw them out the window. They don't matter. What matters is the schedule we currently have.Exactly. Anything could've happened. Weather, motivation, lot of factors there but it had to be enough to make Cyclone fans pucker their cheeks. Being an Iowa State fan I'm ready for everything, however I agree this year could be special. Things are going to have to go right, but part of that is us making the plays on defense and limit mistakes on the offensive line. Dumb holdings and false starts on drives in which we had momentum killed us last year. It's crazy how loaded this team is. I know the schedule is brutal but I think 8-2 is definitely in play
A huge reason the B1G and Pac-12 say they're holding out for a spring season instead of cancelling altogether is because they're worried there would be mass transfers, which 100% would've happened. The issue is the lack of recovery time prior to rolling into spring/summer. When you start talking about player safety this is pretty high up there. The number of sit outs is going to be a problem too.
They weren't getting past Ohio State, so noThe fact that you think a season in which 6 of the top 25 teams in the country won't compete is legitimate makes me not really care. But anything can happen. PSU would have a had a shot at the CFP this year too IMHO.
We were also 1 play away from beating Oklahoma for the second year in a row, but a horrible no PI call ruined that (along with Purdy missing the wide open Kolar)In the last 2 seasons you've been within 1 play of losing to both UNI and Drake. I don't think you're in a position to take any wins for granted.
See. Oklahoma can't take wins for granted either. We were also 1 play away from beating Oklahoma for the second year in a row, but a horrible no PI call ruined that (along with Purdy missing the wide open Kolar)
