Brock Purdy is the most clutch player in the state of Iowa's history

Rob Houghtlin, Keith Duncan, Daniel Murray, and Nate Keading.
Keith Duncan because he kicked a game winner vs Michigan? Daniel Murray because he kicked a game winner vs Penn State? You set the bar pretty low Purdy has single handedly beaten many good teams

Duncan has done more then game winners. An example would be ISU this year where he had to kick multiple big FG’s to keep the game alive. Daniel Murray would make a kick of you needed him to.

Who did Duncan have game winners against?

Long had a fantastic arm IMO

Who's more clutch than Purdy?

Long, Hoiberg, Lester, Hornacek, Grayer, Banks, Sanderson, Spencer Lee, Woolridge, and probably others if I thought about it more. Purdy is a stud and I hope he has a good year but not the most clutch ever.

I said football only

Michigan and Nebraska.
It wasn't a game winner, but every single field goal against ISU was clutch for Duncan, especially the last one that probably would've ended the game had he missed.

He's very clutch. It's hard to say a kicker is the most clutch player on team because of how disrespected they are though.

Lol at people thinking a kicker is even close to the guy who touches the ball every play.
Not every play is a clutch play. Being clutch is being able to make a play when the team needs you do it. Purdy has made multiple big plays in crunch time. A prime example of being clutch in a dire situation is like when Beathard drove the hawks down the field with just seconds left to get them in field goal range for Marshall Koehn to kick the game winner against Pitt. Or when Lazard made the big catch against Oklahoma in 2017. That is what it means to be clutch.

The most clutch in Iowa history? No, but he may yet become that one.
I belive the history of iowa football would bring us Bright, Kinnick, and Davis as possibilities for most clutch. Why even our beloved Jack Trice might be considered most clutch in Iowa history.
However if the question is re-phrased to "current history then Brock may be the answer.
Even then i wonder about Kempt who stepped on the field at Oklahoma and did the unthinkable and had since been a steady and unflappable influence on our young qb. Talk about clutch. Imho.

Lol I know what being clutch is... Saying a kicker is more important than a first round draft QB is laughable.

For the record, I wasn't saying Duncan was more clutch or more important than Purdy. He's neither. Not even close.

Well probably the most clutch player in NFL history doesn’t have 3 of his rings without his kicker.
Well the kicker doesn't make that field goal at that point of the game if it isn't for that QB.. Adam Vinatieri will make the HOF due to being on a team that made SB after SB with the best QB in the history of football leading the way.
