Opinion...
Aging, though not desirable, does have some positive consequences. Most of which, we are wiser than younger generations. As such, I've observed the impact of sports over my lifetime.
So much of our existence is due to psychology. Just a few examples are: protests, stock market, and sports. Yes. 'Sports'. Unfortunately, people don't consider sports as one of the most important forms of psychology to us. 'We' need, collectively, an avenue to 'vent'. And, I believe sports is underestimated as that avenue. The ranging of emotions, not only in competing, but also in patronage is an emotional vent which the world desperately needs. It's a constructive manner of releasing built up emotions. Today's environment is a byproduct of so many things, but I believe it's also a lack of sports as our 'release'.
