I'll give credit for Goodson having a very good game against Minnesota. You will not see me ranting and raving for him racking up 26 yards on 5 carries against Wisconsin, or 16 yards on 3 carries against ISU, or 35 yards on 8 carries against Penn State. He also had a huge fumble in the Penn State game that hurt Iowa big time. Spare me the stud comment.
He was a good freshman RB last year. But you're comparing him to the literal best freshman RB in the nation last year.
Hall played against almost exclusively terrible defenses last season. In the games he played against good defenses, he sucked. He seems like he is going to be a really good player, but I’m not going to anoint him as some superstar without seeing him perform well against a good defense.
Luckily, with the Iowa game getting cancelled, Iowa State likely won’t be facing many good defenses next season, so Hall (and the rest of Iowa State’s offense) can continue to rack up stats against the worst P5 defenses in college football.
