He developed well enough in 4 years to grad transfer to WVU and start. While impossible to ever really know, what would have happened in his development had he been in a more inviting culture.

So do you think Kirk should be fired for what he did to him?
What about the current S&C coach who heard Doyle use the N word and didn't do anything about it
AllegedlyThat's still does not justify Kirk trying to make him stay the way he did..

And so you denigrate the athlete by saying he wasn't good enough to make the field to deflect away from the fact that Iowa basically discarded him...and not because he was a good football player. If his Wiki page is correct, the furthest he got on an NFL roster was on the Buccaneers practice squad.
I wasn't there and I can't confirm any of this is true. Not my place to make that call. it's entirely possible the AA S&C coach said something to Doyle...we don't know.Bump for @Gitwitit

Imagine if he had been a environment where he was allowed to learn, develop, and remain black. Maybe one where he wasn't mocked and verbally abused AND subsequently develop PTSD. Crazy idea eh?He developed well enough in 4 years to grad transfer to WVU and start.
WoofIt's amazing any of the dozens of African American players that were drafted could succeed in such a hostile environment.
They're gaslighting the **** out of this kid. Pathetic.
He wasn't fired. He was forced to resign and paid $1.2 million. So you don't think Doyle should have been fired?
I'm not denigrating Fleming. He played at Iowa but had good players in front of him so never got to start. Obviously, there was an easier path to playing time at WVU and it looks like he did well there.
You were acting like Iowa kept a kid on the bench behind players he was better than.
It really is. Some of those dudes were able to tolerate the racism. Much stronger humans than the racists that abused them. You genuinely are a puke. It's amazing any of the dozens of African American players that were drafted could succeed in such a hostile environment.
