Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

my buddy? i have no idea what lie you are ginning up now. You said HUD runs the properties. You are ******* clueless. Stay in your lane. You know where you defend Kirk without fear of looking like a race baiting end justifies the means guy.
You picked up a response to someone else claiming Iowa was circumventing rules to benefit athletes. HUD does not "run" the properties but they do set guidelines as to who qualifies for low income housing. It's the complexes responsibility to enforce those guidelines but they do have to document proof that individuals qualify. HUD does audit the documentation to ensure guidelines are being followed. Whose race baiting? I'm not part of the guilty until proven innocent crowd.

Nobody is saying Wadley couldn't have been discriminated against because he has questions about his character.

They just aren't taking his statement as absolute truth.
I think that is something that could be true. However; lots of people are saying he wasn't a victim of racial biased policies inherent in the program.

I am not taking all of his statements are true. However; my approach I think is based in reality not racism. I view every scenario having factor of: somewhere in between.

There is what the "Doyle and Brian's say and do(with Kirk's direct knowledge)" and how the person receives and processes the interactions. Doyle and BF are ugly in how they communicate(allowed by Kirk) but there probably is some factor on the athletes in terms of how they process it. That said the overwhelming sentiment is that the hideous approach from Doyle and Brian framed these athletes to take any criticism or punishment as raced based because of the disparity in treatment of AA's versus white athletes on a broad level.

And this is what I would say the majority of people agree on. Kirk might not have been the one directly causing the problems, using the racially insensitive language, or bullying kids, but as the head coach you are responsible for your coach's behaviors when they happen within the walls of the program.

No one can honestly think with what we knew about how Kirk ran things before this went down, that he didn't know every little detail of what was happening. There is a 0% chance Kirk didn't hear about these issues. That's why I say throw away Wadley and DJK's stories where they blame Kirk directly if you want. It does absolutely nothing in clearing Kirk from fault.

You guys love you some Akrum Wadley tweets but when it's a guy like Jordan Lomax, nothing to see here:

"I have much respect for KF and other coaches on the staff as men of great integrity, principles, & morals and I am confident they have the ability be a part of the solution. As my brother @Faith_Joseph already mentioned, “the change starts in the weight room”
Kirk could be a part of the solution by retiring and admitting there were serious improprieties committed in his 22 years of coaching. He could then start a 501c3 with millions of dollars earned and start with a mission of healing harmed athletes coupled with education for others going forward.

This would clean up the reality of what happened, give him a format to heal the injuries he has created, give his 47 family members that are on the state dime a job outside of football protecting young athletes, give him a format to make a real change, AND cement his St. Kirk legacy. He could even make this season his swan song and have a hand in hiring the next man.

He does this or something similar(and terminates Brian) I would find some respect for the guy and even consider his future work to determine how he is finally remembered.

p.s. Jordan Lomax said Kirk could be a part of the solution that does not mean he has to be the head coach.

p.p.s. He could probably get his former athletes and coaches to become a part of the 501 and broaden the reach and financial strength and really do something meaningful. I want @CyTwins to get his contact to get me in front of Kirk. This could be really good for everyone.

The fact that he ripped off fans for what sounds like thousands of dollars, makes me not trust him at his word 100%. I'm sure he is telling the truth to at least some extent.

Since BF told him he looked like he was going to rob a gas station with a black Iowa stocking cap on does that make BF and enabler then?

If he said it to Wadley because he is black and doesn't make similar comments to white players, then he's not an enabler; he's directly guilty of making racially insensitive comments.

I'd be on board with all of that.

Well, there is proof if you want to look for it. Emails and messages that were exchanged from Akrum's verified account that he then deleted after people sent him money.

You can claim it has something to do with autographs, or whatever else you want, but it's obvious where you draw the line is people who upset the status quo versus those who don't. You don't like having to chose between your beloved Hawkeyes and opposing racism, because you know which you'd chose. So you pick-and-chose you believe based on what fits your narrative.

Now let's get this to him. :)

I think this would be the best possible thing for the university, the Ferentz legacy, athletes etc. Hell get Wadley's mom involved. This really could be a win.

The only problem I see with this is Brian. He's most likely not coming out of this without punishment whether that be getting fired or something similar to Doyle. I can't see Kirk being okay with that happening to his son.

Hence the 501c3. Brian stays relevant on the coaching scene. He can show the world how he has learned and is Brian 2.0. He can go on tour advocating for the mission while rehabbing his image. This wins for EVERYBODY.

He could document his learning and reflections "white homephobe racist to change agent the world needs." as a documentary.

He would get the buyout and have plenty of sit around time. Write a book about reflection and how he is committed to being a change agent and fixing the inequality.

You obviously failed to read the majority of my posts. I'm all for due process and ensuring this is thoroughly investigated. Akrum Wadley posted some very serious accusations recently and those need to be investigated along with everything else. You seem to want to just skip any investigation and accept all of these accusations as truth. Wadley has done some things recently that make me question his character. It doesn't mean what is he is saying isn't truthful, it just needs to be investigated. I choose firing the staff and starting over from scratch over sweeping anything under the rug. I want the investigation and I want to see people held accountable.
