Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

You can NOT be claimed as a dependent by anyone. The idea of a dependent is providing significant support for them. Like, if KF paid back any of the rent for the apartment, that would definitely classify him as a dependent. It generally takes a person graduating college and being on their own if they are in college at any time.

Back in the 90s I was on a board for a low income housing project, so I understand that timeframe well. They can ask for a copy of your tax returns to prove your income. If you aren't filing independently then you are ineligible. How they got by with it back then was too often the owners were allowed to self police the individuals in the apartments. I remember we learned of an individual that had invited a boyfriend to live with her, we had to inform her that either he left or most likely they both would be leaving due to the income going over the limit. We were a non-profit and took it seriously. Sounds like there was some shady deals that were being made with the athletic department at Iowa if what you say is true.

I'm guessing that one person was able to get qualified and then their buddies moved in, illegally of course, and they had a landlord who looked the other way.
I could be wrong here but with AMT it did not benefit KF to claim his kids as dependents. They were more than likely claiming themselves. This happens in a lot of cities unfortunately.

The Iowa fans I see hear want the investigation. If the investigation proves systemic racism from top down, clean house. If it proves Brian is racially insensitive, let him go. They are entitled to due process. Sorry, if I don't accept Akrum Wadley's word or DJK's word at face value. They have both done things in their past that make their word questionable. They will both more than likely pursue some sort of legal action after the investigation.

The second half of this contradicts the first half.

"I want to see change if there is racism within the program, but I will discredit the most outspoken in this situation every chance I get."

How do you expect anyone to not think you are full of ****.

Let’s believe the Rhabdo people!
Rhabdo....so they did the same workout over several years and no one suffered an injury because of it. Something happened that time that hadnt happened before. Maybe mixing supplements or dehydration or a combination of things. They stopped doing it. Medical doctors couldn't pinpoint an exact reason for if.

But the guy that masterminded that episode has now been fired for being a racist. Who was his boss again? Character counts...

No it doesn't. Should we just trust their word and not investigate? They have both lost the benefit of being a beacon of truth when you scam fans for money and do drugs. Their accusations are noted, now investigate.

So KF should have fired Doyle because of rhabdo even though doctors couldn't explain exactly what happened. The same workout that had been done for years. You're a hater.

That is a MAJOR misconception. I receive no benefit from my oldest two on taxes, but since I provide shelter, clothing, housing and/or other basic necessities; they are ineligible to even claim themselves. They would need to find employment and show income to make that break. I was even going to have one of my companies hire my oldest to see if he could get some aid (can't even get stinking subsidized loans), but that wasn't even going to work. Are most of the athletes holding full or semi-full time jobs to show ability to provide for themselves? It's not just a simple decision to be broken off from being a dependent on from someone when you are in college. It has been kept that way to avoid kids filing for themselves and getting massive amounts of government support while someone is even partially helping them.

One biggie is/was health insurance. Was pretty easy to see if they person was independent or not by asking about if they had their own policy or not. Since Obamacare allowed a child to stay on a policy until 26 (or through, Im unsure there), that has taken than easy determinator away.

It is really starting to sound like Iowa is/was pulling some very illegal things if they had a lot of athletes in government housing.

In the statements, it was hit on that this wasn't the normal workout. That the coaches were upset about a bowl game and was actually a punishment workout for several players. The statements were eluding to not all players being required to do it.

Lol, you're trying to hard. It wasn't illegal. Are you trying to tell me no one looked into it after this story broke? It was happening all over.

You believe what you want. If you are considered a dependent, which many are, you are ineligible (or were up to about 2002 when I left the board). Like I mentioned before, the biggest loophole in the whole system was the owners were allowed to self-police the individuals quite often. We took our responsibility seriously. Maybe the owners of those rentals did not, and allowed those things to happen.

False. Same workout but this time they did it after a 3 week break for the holidays. It wasnt punishment as not all of the players even played in the fall

You're a moron. I've said dozens of times I'm all for cleaning house if the investigation substantiates that. Sorry, I prefer due process rather than trusting claims made on social media.

Do you think KF is serious about change? He mentioned himself that he has not paid attention to the accusations made. If he doesn't know what people are saying is wrong, how does he change anything?

These rentals are run by HUD. There were Fedeal guidelines that had to be met to qualify. It was happening all over the country and still is to a lesser extent. This was the first time a coaches son was doing it which is why it became a big deal.

He said he's not paid attention to accusations? When? Why is Doyle gone then? Why did he have a press conference to address accusations?

So the plan is to push through the previous comment and continue to discredit what they have to say because it doesn't fit the narrative you want to believe, got it.

Like I said prior, you are full of ****.

That tells me your knowledge of these apartments. HUD does not own any, nor do they run any. They have X amount of money that they will provide and owners of apartments request to be made eligible to receive the ability to have government payments. You are told you qualify for so many to be full or partial government assistance rentals. Individuals also apply for these "subsidies", they are given a percentage or an upto amount that the government will assist them with. Then the rentors and rentees need to find one another and get a mutually beneficial situation. Apartments may lose their government funded ability and so can the individuals.

I hate to break it to you but athletes from all sports lived in the same complex for decades. I was there in the 90's and it was happening. Ethical, not really. Legal, yes. A lot if athletes lived there.

I know for a fact that they were using it as a recruiting pitch. Move into low income housing, pocket the money that was supposed to be used for rent expenses. Pretty far from ethical even if it was technically legal. I love how KF once again feigned ignorance saying he didn't know where BF was living...yet all of these players that are speaking up now say that he knows every single detail of what goes on in the program. Someone is lying. And playing dumb seems like the default response whenever sh*t hits the fan.

He was asked that specifically in the presser and he said he hadn't paid attention to it. That one website has his exact quote, Iowa needs equality I think is the website. I will check right now.

Its americaneedsequality. Here is what they have posted from his presser.

6/12/2020 - KIRK FERENTZ, HEAD COACH
Reporter: "Did you apologize to your former players?"

Ferentz: "I don't know that I apologized and I think they know how I feel"... "I haven't really paid attention to the accusations"

So, you bring up good questions. It really appears that using the logical questions you presented and seeing what KF said at his presser; KF really appears to be lying. Why did he suspend Doyle and then fire him? Why did he make that player committee if he had no idea what the accusations were? Why and what was he asking players about when he was talking to them if he hadn't paid attention to the accusations. I think you may finally be coming to the logical conclusions that the majority of non-Iowa diehards have.
