Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

You listed Rutgers, Iowa and Providence as his P6 offers. So I was just pointing out that Providence had interest but did not offer. And I agree, in basketball there are 6 power conferences including the Big East.

Just because 247 doesn't list the offer means he didn't have an offer? Is that what you are saying?

Where I think he's foolish to not stay in the draft is the distinct possibility of there not being a cbb season. Might as well come out and get paid to play, whether it's g league or the league. He would kill in Europe too. I don't see his draft stock improving at all if he stays. Say there is no cbb season. Well, he decided to stay and was unable to increase his draft stock, and actually hurt it because now he's a year older and less appealing to a young NBA. Kid needs to make his money now, his stock will not get higher

I'm not sure of that.

Rivals says he got an offer from Providence.

He had 3 other nice offers other than Iowa:
Rutgers, Providence, Cincinnati

He has the best offers in the entire 2020 class.

Jesus. You guys had arguably the best player in the nation and were going to get a 7 seed in the NCAA tournament last year.

And we have pretty much everyone else back.

You think Iowa would go from Top 5-10 to not even on the bubble by losing Garza? That's like a 45-50 spot drop from one player.

That is asinine.

You're making the assumption that they're going to be top-5 / top-10 towards the end of the year. I don't think they're going to be that. I think they'll be slightly better than they were last year. You're also assuming because I said they wouldn't be a tournament team that Iowa would suck without him. They wouldn't suck, but missing the tournament as a bubble team is still missing the tournament.

I said they would be a bubble team and you responded with "Jesus". It's not crazy to interpret that you don't agree they would be a bubble team.

It mostly had to do with you saying they'd 100% be better than Iowa State (given we get our two waivers).

Well that part is a no brainier. Even with the 2 waivers, ISU won't be a bubble team.
Well we just have different opinions then (that's obvious). Lol we don't need to go any further. We'll just have to wait and see what happens because that's literally all we can do at this point.

Totally agree. If Garza comes back and the most everyone back stays healthy, anything less than an Elite is a disappointment, because of the 5-10 rating.

I will admit I was lazy and only looked at 247 not other services. It appears that he may have had an offer from Providence and 247 didn't show it. Also, Cincinnati is a nice offer as someone else pointed out though not P6. I don't know how good JO is or will be, nor do I really care.

Iowa's not even close to top 10 even with Garza

The 2011-2012 season, Iowa State went 23-11 (that'd tie for the 2nd most wins for Fran in a season), we were an 8 seed (that'd be the second highest seed in the NCAA tourney for Fran), and we lost in the second round (farthest Fran has ever made it..

If we would not have had Royce White on that team, we would not have been a tournament team. Did we have other nice players? Yes, but Royce was the determining factor. This is a similar situation as much as some of their fans don't believe it.

Yea I'm not getting how he thinks losing their best player when they were going to be a 7 seed this coming year wouldn't absolutely drop them from the tournament (not even a bubble team in my opinion) let alone to believing they would 100% be better than Iowa State. He must really be on the Murray twins train.

The 5-10 rating thing is for the Big Ten, right?
