Iowa Football Recruiting

After the summer dead period.

What would have caused that during the summer?

ISU took his commitment in January of 2019 after his sophomore season and stopped communication before his junior year started. It's not like they saw him play again and decided they didn't want him due to anything on field.

He surprised the staff with his commitment. They weren’t happy with his progress in his film.

He was aware of the situation and stipulations of his recruitment when he committed. I assure you.

They had 3 months to evaluate his sophomore film and tell him they didn't want him anymore before he verballed but decided to wait until right after he camped at Iowa, picked up an Iowa offer and confirmed he would be visiting there.

For some reason, I don't believe you.

Iowa State cut ties with Twedt because they knew he was going to flip to Iowa. Everyone knows this. CMK got his feelings hurt and pulled a “you’re not breaking up with me, I’m breaking up with you.”

I can’t tell whether this is trolling or that you actually believe this.

Matthew Bain had a piece on Twedt last summer where Twedt said he was still all in for the Cyclones but he hadn’t talked to the staff in weeks. He didn’t know why they weren’t contacting him.

If a kid is verbally committed to a school, the staff won’t just stop communication because “they know a flip is imminent”. That’s not how it works.

ISU fans mocked KF's visit policy for committed prospects until Campbell pulled the same thing with Twedt.
Iowa wants their player to stay firmly committed but they will still go after other committed players.
Iowa will pull offers like everyone else.
Iowa has pulled a verbally committed kid when he didnt break the visit policy.

The visit policy is mocked because Brian was trying to sound righteous about it.

Iowa let's their commits visit as long as they discuss it with KF ahead of time. Jestin Jacobs is one of the more recent commit that took a visit after verballing and still kept his Iowa offer.

If a committed prospect tells the Iowa staff that they are done with the recruiting process and are 100% committed then the staff stops recruiting them. If they are receptive, then Iowa continues to recruit them.

Iowa does pull offers for a lot of reasons, no argument there.

What school did Jack Beneventi visit after committing to Iowa?
