Tough day for EIU hoops hopes

Both classes are filled primarily with guys that other P5/P6 programs didn’t want. Both classes will end up towards the bottom of their respective conferences. Both coaches are good at identifying under-recruited players and developing them into players that play above their recruiting pedigree.

I’m not sure you could find a more similar comparison.

This is hilariously inaccurate. ISU’s football class has 5 guys with no other P5 options out of 14 to Iowa’s 3 out of 5. ISU’s class averages 2.2 P5 offers per commit to Iowa’s .4. All that with an additional conference worth of schools to offer. There isn’t an comparison to Iowa basketball’s epically embarrassing class.

I forgot the Hawkeye insider is the bible and all Hawkeyes believe their recruits are 3-4 stars, but yet according to this article it really says nothing about their so called 3 star rankings. Hmmm...they call out the other guys stars but not them. I couldn't even find them in any ESPN rankings either.

71% of Iowa State’s class has zero or one other P5 offer. 80% of Iowa’s class has zero or one other P6 offer (although I have sources who have said Ulis picked up multiple P5 offers after committing, I am only counting reported offers for this exercise). Iowa State’s class is much more similar than you would like to think.

That addresses none of the points in my post. Those Iowa class numbers are all final when ISU is in the middle of a recruiting cycle.

And hopefully you wipe your “source” with Charmin.

The comparison between the Iowa basketball recruiting class and Iowa State’s football recruiting class is actually spot on. Never really thought of that before.
Florida State wanted to hire Matt Campbell.
Who the hell wants Fran?

Yep, bravo to you sir...take a look at the average number your 3 star class for a much better read...Iowa had the 73rd ranked class by average...11th in the BIG (ahead of vaunted Nebraska, Penn State, and Maryland).

It's going to be a rough time at Carver-Hawkeye after this year...better let the pizza places know that there will be some big orders coming.

You are an average recruit rating type of guy? What do you think about Iowa State’s football class currently have the lowest average recruit rating in the Big XII (below even Kansas), and the 7th worst in all the P5 conferences (behind Rutgers, Illinois, and Oregon State)?

It's going to be a rough time at Jack Trice after this year...better let the pizza places know that there will be some big orders coming.

Football recruits usually take several years to be contributors on the field whereas with basketball once you hit campus your clock starts ticking and the NBA wants as young as possible but good effort

Only an Iowa fan in a basketball thread would be dumb enough with cracking a joke about something that's been given out for free at the Morgue.

That's right they are. But players ranked in the 400s are 3 stars. I have noticed if you really want to be competitive most of your roster needs to have players ranked in or close to the Top 150 and have a composite score of 92 and above. I mean sure there are outliers but most players who can make a top team in a conference need to be in the above criteria.

Seriously these racism allegations wrecked you

Let the hype EIU hype train begin with a 13 man rotation = better defense.

@DavidEickholt Fran says you can expect Iowa to play better defense this season.

@DavidEickholt Fran says that having a deep bench will help with defense heading into next year. Also believes that Iowa's length will cause some problems on the perimeter.

This is why Iowa will be a bubble team this upcoming year
