Iowa Football Recruiting

This one is surprising for sure. I know there was mutual interest. Wonder what ended up happening? Happy for the kid though, hope he works though his problems and turns out to be a good player for Nebraska.

What “problems”?

And a walk-on at that. Pretty good get for Nebraska. Why wouldn’t CMK offer Miller a scholarship with as bad as their OL has been lately?
@CyTwins said he was hearing there was stiff competition for him. Wonder if he decided to walk on at Neb over going to Ames on scholarship? Crazy, because both teams stink on the OL.

Campbell has certainly done a good job of identifying talent thus far. I’ll put it this way - most Iowa fans would be pissed if they had a recruiting class like Iowa State’s right now, even though Iowa has been one of the best programs in all of college football at developing under-recruited players. And you are lying to yourself if you don’t think Iowa State fans would be mocking the hell out of Iowa fans if the recruiting classes of the two schools were flipped.

It’s fine to have faith in your school and coaching staff - that’s what fandom is about. But even you have to admit this is an underwhelming recruiting class on paper. You can be hopeful that CMK can develop these guys, but that’s all it is at this point - hope.
I certainly would like to see some higher ranked guys, but there are some that Campbell really likes. And yeah, if the classes were flipped Iowa State fans would definitely be making fun of Iowa's class. It is what it is. We won't know for quite some time whether it works out or not.

I think our OL will be better than it has been under Campbell, but I don't think anyone will argue that our OL in the past has not been very good. It hasn't been complete garbage, but definitely not good.

I mean they have an elite mobile QB and a stud RB. If they don’t have a good season, whoever the OL coach is needs to reevaluate things.

Why do Iowa fans care so much about our recruiting class?

Let’s just see how everything plays out. In 3-4 years maybe it will turn out that ISU’s class was better, who knows?

I do know that no matter what happens, ISU fans can be proud of their program..... Iowa fans... not so much.

Iowa State.

edit: by “they” - I meant the ISU’s OL
That's what I thought. Yeah I mean I would certainly agree. Campbell's recruits are now within the program so hopefully they take that next step. The first big step would be to stop false starting.. that's killed us the last couple of years.

That's not a good thing for Iowa...
It could both ways. He is probably a decent player but not one that ultimately hurts us too badly leaving. We have studs coming in in the next class that will be better then he was.
