I agree, but man, the social media presence of hawk fans living in high levels of denial is truly disturbing.
I agree. Unfortunately it's not isolated to hawk fans and it happens in sports, politics, etc.

No conflict of interest they can hire one in the 20s for all I care. You said the reason Iowa hired a firm with a major conflict of interest was because they were one of the best in the Midwest which ended up being false. Iowa picked them because they knew nothing would come out of the investigation

So no conflict of interest when Iowa State hires a firm with Iowa State grads, but it is a conflict of interest when Iowa hires a firm with Iowa grads? That’s convenient.

Husch Blackwell actually does have Iowa State alumni on its staff, so obviously there was a conflict of interest. And the article says that one of the accusers claimed that she was discriminated against because of her race, so Iowa State hired an all-white firm to investigate a claim of racial discrimination. I guess when Iowa does these things its bad, but when Iowa State does these things it’s “nothing to see here.” Funny how that works.
I find zero Iowa State alumni on Hush Blackwell's Kansas City's staff and couldn't find any in any other office either. Maybe you can do a better search of their website. One of the accusers mentioned race but her lawsuit was totally about Title IX.

As you might know, Title IX is a gigantic can of worms in which outside experts should be brought in to help sort things out. As usual, a smart move by ISU.

Again, ISU's contract was for legal help regarding a complicated federal statute. The hoks contract is for the investigation of massive accusations of civil rights violations, racial bias and discrimination, workplace bullying, lack of institutional control, etc., with a firm that is known for non-diversity and for conflict of interest with multiple hok alum on staff. Two totally non-comparable situations.

JFC, that is what's wrong with you Hawk fans. You want to believe SO BADLY that KF had no idea any of this was going on so that your view of your golden child stays untainted. Head coaches are the biggest control freaks on the planet. They know every single thing that is going on in there program and with their players. If you wanna sit there with your head up your you know what and act like KF didn't know anything, then by all means go on. But you're absolutely wrong and everyone else who isn't a hawk fans knows this
So the players think Kirk is the coach to see them through this but you don't, got it. I think I'll trust past and present players over some guy on the internet that hates Iowa in the first place.

There are past players that aren't supportive of Kirk though

If you actually worked in the legal industry you would know that the Vault rankings are the most important ranking in the industry, subjective or not.
You've almost circled back to prestigious grad school. I have faith you can do it.

The hok football program, the way it has been run for at least the last 21 years, is forever tainted. It has been exposed to the brutal light of day for all to see. What it will be like, for better or for worse, remains to be seen.

nothing will change, home time football heroes will still dream of being hawkeyes and if they get offered, they will end up in Iowa City. Just the way it is.

Does it matter? Is there a cutoff for conflict of interest - greater than five attorneys at the firm = conflict of interest, and five or fewer = no conflict of interest?
Yes it matters. Zero is the cutoff for conflict of interest for an investigative case.

There is a huge difference between hiring a firm for defense in a case like it appears ISU did and to have a firm perform an investigation.

One it doesn’t matter if there is huge fans of your team on because they are working for a goal of defending the school. It’s a clear goal and they are working FOR the school so conflicts of interest don’t matter.

The second in the case of Iowa it does matter because they are there to do an investigation and should NOT be working for the school. It does matter in that case if there is a conflict of interest because it could muddy the investigation that should be independent.

Very well said.

I mean I think you're making it up so yeah it matters

Wadley's mom is not supportive. I'm not sure about Wadley himself. Either way, that's 3 out of 60+ that have spoken out and 3 out of thousands that have played under Ferentz.

So there are multiple former players that aren't supportive of Ferentz leading the program moving forward? Yikes!
