Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

Here is the scoop the innuendo late last week was that we were going to feel sorry for questioning why Barta had been radio silent because of health concerns or some other "matter".

Guess what I don't feel sorry for Barta. I feel sorry for the young men that were treated like **** during his tenure. Barta admitted he knew it was bad. His effort to rectify? Weak and flaccid. It disgusts me what he has done to minorities of all types. What he has done to victims. Does it suck for him that he has cancer? Yup. Does that make him any more sympathetic for his inaction and outright hostility towards a entire swath of humanity? **** NO.

If @TRYHARDER is cool with his racist supporting AD, that has a verified history predatory management towards those not like him cool. I give zero ***** about Barta's cancer and it sure as hell is not an excuse to support racism vis a vis deafening silence.
Yeah I agree and understand what you're saying. Barta having cancer doesn't mean he's invincible from criticism. Also, you saying you don't care about his cancer doesn't mean you wish he'd die, it just means you're not going to feel bad for him because he's racist.

Hopefully days, not weeks, if the investigation uncovers grounds for him to be fired.
The weeks not months response is so vague it is hard to believe anyone has fallen for it. Genuinely do you believe there will be a formal conclusion in less than four weeks?

I am thinking they want it concluded by the time camp starts so 6-7 weeks, less than 2 months.

I'm disappointed that OSU's t-shirt story is front page news on ESPN and Iowa's story has been a random blurb here and there. Frustrating.

I suppose two months has eight weeks. However Mr. Sad Tears said weeks not months. That would imply less than a month or no longer than four weeks.

Both are 100% related to the sack of **** that just got fired....
Yeah this is not hard to comprehend.. The investigation is going to dig into the program to find racial disparities, but the reasons why those disparities and discrimination happened is due to the overall culture of the program, which starts at the top and makes its way down the line. Bullying, racial issues, power control, demeaning behavior, over the top physical punishment. Those are the types of things that happened when the program was allowed to go unchecked.

The reason why Barta did not like the question is because he doesn't believe these problems coincide with one another. They do, and Barta deserves a lot of blame in this. Less than Kirk, but blame is deserved.

It's because it's new. The Iowa news to some people isn't as juicy of a story at the moment. It'll make it's way back into the cycle.

Shouldn't take more than a couple of days. Hush Blackwell will use a boilerplate report format and will insert the U of I's findings and some vanilla recommendations for improvement. The usual buzzwords and blah blah will be included. Cut and paste.

Charge U of I $600/hr for the secretarial time to put the thing together and be done with it. U of I will make a big production out of it and say "see we are the first in the nation to address our racial bias of the last 22 years". Hok fans will jump up and down for joy saying that we are first in the nation-it's a new tradition!

Everyone goes home happy except the minorities. Media, Gary, Kirk, Brian all have their jobs saved and are vindicated. U of I president and the BOR all breathe a sigh of relief as that is done and it's business as usual with no sh*t sticking to them.

If that's the case HTF does Iowa retain Kirk? His aw shucks I never saw anything excuse would be completely full of holes at that point.
If Brian and Wallace are canned or "mutually part ways" with the program, that would be three separate coaches who all were allowed to behave extremely inappropriately to student athletes, the majority being those who are African American. Kirk Ferentz himself also had rules within the program that targeted African Americans as well as discriminating against African Americans by having the majority of his drug tests be taken by them.

If Iowa were an ethical school, the BEST case scenario for Kirk would be he would be allowed to resign.

The overwhelming majority of former players, current players and current players families that have gone on the record either in support of Kirk or saying they believe he can make the changes necessary.

If you break rules, the law, etc, your family isn't the one who decides whether or not you deserve another chance, even if they are upset with you. It's the person who is in charge.

In this case, the independent investigation will make a determination as to whether Kirk was involved (spoiler alert: he was), then they will most likely give a recommendation to the U of I. The U of I will then have a choice on their hands of whether or not to fire the guy or keep him on. Being that it's the U of I and their ethics aren't exactly their best quality, I'm sure they will decide Kirk's fate based off of what decision will receive the least amount of public backlash instead of actually making a choice based off of character and morality.

I still think that this will drag out and Kirk is allowed to coach one final year and "retire on his terms".

I didnt say KF's family should have a say in the matter.
