Isn't that just awesome!! Iowa is going to set the standard in college football now.... and no longer be controlling, demeaning, and racist towards the black members of it's football team! So wonderful!

It's just amazing all the things KF and the Iowa football program do for society. We should all just be thankful we have that wonderful program in our state.

Don't you all agree?
JFC, that is just insulting to people's intelligence. Of course, Hawk fans will eat it up since they don't have much intelligence to insult.

Yes, absolutely. The timing of his stories are basically meant to counter and discredit black players' accusations. Do you see it any other way?

I read it as simply pointing out that there is a possible (or even likely) explanation other than racism. He’s not justifying or excusing Doyle’s behavior, or discrediting Hankins’ story.

Seriously. That is exactly what it is doing.

So has anything actually been done yet, or is the staff still in full-denial, no-changes mode?

It seems to me like the plan right now is to do absolutely nothing and hopefully get away with it and it will all die down eventually. We know the local media and journalists won't hold them to the fire.

If their "do nothing" plan doesn't work.... then they may have to fire Doyle at some point.

I can't say anything bad about Iowa or I'll be banned

The media in this case has no cajones, zero. How long was spend on #BandGate that ended up being pretty much a Nothing Burger? How about when an Iowa Fan broke in to Iowa's locker room in Ames and stole a bunch of stuff? It's Iowa Football. As long as they have to be worried about their access to Kinnick and writing fluff pieces for the Drunks in Ottumwa, they won't do ****.
Go easy on the Ottumwa drunks.

Strong disagree. Is your stance that if a person of color alleges racism, a white person should not point out that they received the same treatment, because doing so would be an attempt to discredit the complainant? Just let the scarlet letter of being labeled a racist hang over the person being accused, even if they have personal evidence to suggest that is an unfair accusation? That seems misguided.

Everyone has a different perspective. Hankins should be encouraged to share his experiences and how he perceived them, and his teammates should feel free to participate in that dialogue and share how they perceived the events. That is how we learn from one another. I don’t view that as belittling or discrediting.

They let their players join the rest of the NCAA football world by allowing them to Tweet.

FWIW, Ferentz talked to the team back in 2017 about lifting the Twitter ban, and the players decided to keep it in place.

How do your AA friends feel about this whole situation?

Not sure if mentioned but Doyle's kid entered the transfer portal. Expecting Dad to be gone?

Nope. I won't believe it until I see it.

Doyle's son was in a no win situation no matter what. Even if his dad was gone, it would still be way too uncomfortable for him there. His son sadly was given no choice but to leave in this situation, no matter what happens to dad.

Did the leadership council vote on it?
I see there were 5 African Americans on it out of 17 total in 2017.

So the vote was 12-5 then?

Probably the same 12-5 result as the wearing earrings, hats on backwards, wearing pants below the waist, listening to rap music, having dreadlocks, etc, etc, etc.

Has Barta been furloughed? You think if finances get tight this year, Iowa could send him home and not impact much.
Kirk could probably handle both jobs.o_O

Who knows if Barta is even still alive? He just avoids everything.... unless it's to come out against ISU on something.
