Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

I honestly think he's more racist than Kirk and Doyle at this point. He literally said he doesn't believe Terrence Harris (black athlete who is credible) for no reason. Well we know the reason
Is it because Terrence is an athlete and they can't be trusted?

Black athlete yes. If he was white Brodie would believe him. It's sad but I've asked him multiple times why he won't believe Harris and he ignores it every time

Interview on KFAB radio just now with Ross Peterson. He stated that Doyle simply is who he is...not racist. Additionally, he believes that this will be the last season for Kirk, that he will retire after this season...and no, Brian will not be the next head coach. He did not state that Doyle needs to be fired...again, only that Doyle is simply misunderstood. Sports talking heads here in Omaha do think that Kirk is in some trouble, but none are calling for his head.
Well, Peterson is a dumb ass. Not surprised he doesn't think Doyle should be fired because he is a huge conservative and probably thinks white guys should be able to say whatever they want.

Yeah, but do you know who really cant be trusted?

Pole vaulters. Liars everyone of them. Thats why none have spoken up about whether or not DJK was made to put a trash can on his head or not. They know we won't trust them.

Brodie probably flies the Confederate Flag below his Black and Gold striped Hawk Flag.

That is such coded language....i get it "but look at the results (NFL, etc)".

The thing is....we ALL have work to do in these areas.

I saw the example of him mocking black players...at least come out and say "I was trying to connect but realize that was a d*ck way of doing it"...but nope....just "he's misunderstood".

Also, wait till we wear black uniforms this year....and Hoks somehow try to spin us as being insensitive, etc.

When the black uniforms come out they will label the day "Black Awareness Day."

So what you think is that KF has just allowed a little bit of racism and not full racism? Maybe they were just racist on Monday, Wednesday and Friday?

Exactly how do you 'overplay' the racism hand?

And what IS the 'true cause'?
Infinitely more civil than what I had typed out prior to deleting as I was going to light this puke up.

He’s definitely in the “Why isn’t there a White Lives Matter protest and why would it be racist?” camp.

And all of this is happening in an environment where:

1. There is very little else in the sports world to discuss, and
2. We're in the midst of the biggest national discussion about race since perhaps the civil rights movement of the 60s, with protests nationwide literally every day

You have to work hard to avoid this topic the way they are, but by god they're pulling it off.

Yes, Iowa media are totally nutless when it comes to Iowa. As others mentioned, Bandgate and the Pemsl stories, short of the initial coverage of bandgate national media didn't give a crap about either of these, because quite frankly they turned out to not be much. Yet, local media pounded these into the ground.

In this case national media is on it, and the local media is framing this as "Doyle's probably gone, he might have had a chance but that statement he released says he's not going to change."

Nationally there is not even a thought about Doyle returning - they just assume he's gone, because they have some common sense and aren't blinded by the closeness of the situation. Most of the national media think Ferentz should clearly be gone. They are starting to dredge up the made-up award after Rhabdo.

We need the national media to do what these local losers won't do, which is do a little bit of journalism on the sexual assault case. Their meeting with the victim, KF having two players move into the crime scene (and what they shared they found at the scene), letting one of the alleged perpetrators move onto the same floor as the victim.

Despite all this, the common theme has been that KF has "built up enough good will" to have his seat be warm.

Catching up on podcasts and came across the Right Time with Bomani Jones from Tuesday. He absolutely destroys Kirk from the DJK statement. At very minimum, this coverage is going to make recruiting difficult.

Yeah, he can't even take one step up the mouth-breather argument rung with the savagely intellectual "Don't all lives matter?"

You calling Amari Spivey a liar? I think the point is that there is not a simple set of facts that absolve the coaches of any wrong doing as you would suggest... there are multiple people speaking up supporting DJK's account and multiple contradicting it. The truth may be in the middle and regardless it would be classified as bullying and demeaning behavior by coaches.
Hilarious af that dirt bags like @Brodie0 attack players they once cheered for with reckless abandon. The empty space in @Brodie0 's life is unimaginable. To forget how these athletes completed his life when they were actually wearing the uniform then utterly shun them is almost shocking. Once these men depart their value falls aside and they become no longer useful. Jeesh it almost sounds like they are valuable like slaves.

Every time he denies and equivocates he is directly binding their ankle to the slavery of sport. As I said the other day "#Hawkeyes Are Trashing Equality" #HATE

how on god’s green earth does Ross think Doyle isn’t racist. What we should have learned about these last few weeks it doesn’t matter in your INTEND to be racist. It matters if you are. While Ross may think that Doyle didn’t intend to be racist (debatable), he certainly was racist.

wait- you don’t see a difference between racism and racial insensitivity? That’s absurd in my opinion. One can be corrected, one can’t.

if Iowa had true racists on staff they would not hire or recruit black guys, and there would be calls from former players for kirks head right now.

in terms of overplaying an a issue- you are seeing in this thread right now. Now, I was expecting it due to the nature of the rivalry but I don’t think ANY program should be taking moral high ground right now. Many of these things occur all over. Glass houses and all. You have also seen a good number of iowa players bring up issues that are completely unrelated to race to ride the coattails of the situation. Iowa’s commits and players seem to back the program.

This is hardly unique to this situation though. It happens during any crisis.

I thought this was interesting. Wadley retweeted all of these comments just 6 months ago after he posted highlight videos of his younger brother.

Interesting - that account differs from the one Marvin McNutt told. Don Nordmann, Dace Richardson, and several other of DJK’s former teammates have also said that’s not true. You calling Marvin McNutt a liar?

No, Amari Spivey is. Take it up with him.

Ya real racists would never try to profit off the backs of African Americans! This is a great line of thought.
