Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

Why? Do you think he's a racist? Do you think he chose to ignore 40+ claims of his #2 man in charge for 20+ years? Do you think he knew anything?
I don’t think Ferentz knew. Several players have stated that they were not comfortable going to Ferentz to voice their concerns, and I know that some of this stuff was brought to black members of the leadership council, and even they didn’t bring it up to Ferentz. And it’s not like Doyle is going to voluntarily bring up some of the things he is accused of saying.
That in itself is an indictment on Ferentz and how he ran the program, that no one would feel comfortable bringing this stuff up to him personally, but I don’t think it is reason to fire him. I know they have taken steps over the last couple years to address the culture that made black players feel uncomfortable by loosening some of the restrictions, looking into why the attrition with black players was so high, hiring more black assistant coaches, etc. It’s clear that those moves weren’t a big enough step, and now this is going to force Kirk’s hand to make sure they do make the changes necessary.
Ultimately I think this will be a positive for the Iowa program. It will rid them of the one person that was almost universally cited as the source of the toxicity in Doyle, and it will allow Iowa to address the problems that needed to be addressed in a public and transparent manner.
You what is next right? The University of Iowa and their inflated ego of thinking they are more important and better than they actually are will shut down the internet in order to get this to go away.
I think this post is in good faith.. But there is NO WAY Kirk Ferentz did not know about any of this. There are accounts of players literally going into his office and him blaming that player instead of blaming Doyle..
And if Kirk didn't know this was going on and players were too scared to bring it up to him because they were afraid.. That's just as worse! Still though, Kirk knew.
So you think 20 years of creating a culture of racism and ONLY doing anything about it because they got caught finally is a positive for the program?
I see that always reasonable and never insane fan base is replying logically and kindly.

That's because KF is Barta's boss, not the other way around. You wonder why Barta wasn't fired when he had to pay off that lawsuit? Because KF didn't want him fired. When all the hawkeye fans are complaining about the nonconference FB schedule and playing ISU every year...it's because KF wants it that way. Has nothing to do with Barta. KF is the boss and I really doubt he even has to answer to the university president.
