Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

Ive already said I hope Doyle takes a knee during the anthem from his living room when Iowa kicks off this season.

The other 2, not at this point. Wallace should be on the block before BF and KF in my opinion. His comments to Jack K. were awful.
Wallace should go. BF should probably also go. Doyle is a must imo. Kirk would be last to go but again, I think if any of those others end up leaving, Kirk is admitting some sort of guilt. If none get fired, wowza.

At this point for our own benefit (recruiting, Iowa fans desperately want him gone, etc) do we want him to get actually fired?

No. For the sake of the pain they caused I think Brian, Doyle and Kirk should all be fired. What they did was disgusting. It's obvious they think they can get away with all of this that's why I asked the question

Thinking they should be fired and asking if ISU fans should them fired because of the benefit it might provide the ISU football program are 2 different stances.

In other words, you think what Doyle did was bad enough to have him fired but you are pondering if that is what is best for the ISU football program.

That is sad.

And yet, you are giving a pass to BF and KF. How many member of the board need to be removed before the CEO is fired? If KF isn't responsible for any of this then why are you giving him $5M a year? Seems like the guy getting $800K was the one responsible for the team. A boss not willing to acknowledge systemic issues (and take responsibility for them) is not someone I would want representing my university.

I would agree. With what is known at this point, the order for least amount of job security to most for those 4 should be Doyle, Wallace, BF and then KF.

I want Doyle, Wallace, Brian and Kirk to be fired. Obviously they all deserve to be fired and I've known about this cultural problem for years. Unfortunately I don't have a say in the matter and it's apparent Kirk is going to try to save everyone so that's why I asked the question

I just have such a hard time believing that a football coach, who spends so much time both directly with players and directly with coaches, has never encountered these issues being presented by the players now.

Am I convinced he will be punished for it? No. But I doubt he wasn't aware of at least some of what has happened, and after that point, it is his choice to ignore it.

Am I convinced that Kirk was oblivious? No.

Should Doyle be fired? Absolutely!

Do I think I that Kirk is capable of being someone oblivious? I think he is a stereotypical don’t bother me with crap manager.

Also as I have said before I think we all have to reflect on what we have tolerated. Maybe he was mildly aware of off color comments. Maybe he viewed the limited complaints about Doyle as players that weren’t team focused. Maybe he fully tolerated a racist and abusive culture. I don’t know what it was like in the Iowa football program. I’m going to try my best to listen and understand everyone’s perspective.

I would agree. I truly believe it would be an absolute s*** show if Doyle and Wallace aren't canned.

KF isnt acknowledging there are issues? I do not agree with that.

Pretty much every former player that spoke out mentioned Doyle in some form. BF was mentioned by name by a couple former players that I have seen. KF was supported by many more former players that came forward than those that spoke negatively about him. They want him to fix it, not be fired over it.

Not buying it. You only want to see how this can benefit ISU. My post this morning was spot on, Christmas came in early June for you this year.

Although I dont think its going to work out like you are hoping it is. It seems the team will come out more united from all this and the program will likely be in great shape moving forward.

Is Utah, Clemson and Missouri in the state of Iowa?

Iowa football has been held up by media and fans for 40 years as this pristine, do it the right way program. You can kinda see why an opposing fan base would be commenting on what is happening right?

Iowa Football: Doing it the White way!

I have had zero thoughts of this benefiting Iowa State. I really haven't even thought about wanting bad things to happen to Iowa.

I'm bothered because I don't like to see people do ****** things and get away with it. I don't like to see feigned, over-night compassion treated as being legitimate. KF and Doyle had dozens of chances to change their ways and they didn't. The only thing that changed is them being called out.

I brought up Iowa having racist issues three years ago. It's not like this is surprising to me or anyone

You think the program comes out of this in great shape? Yikes

Because it doesn’t really matter. They are one non-con game on the schedule.
