Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

I have not seen a lot out there that are taking shots at KF with the exception of Wadley's mom. There has been a lot on Twitter so I may have missed a couple but it seems KF has the support of former players to be the one responsible to make the changes needed in the Iowa program.
Kirk was accused of a few things, however when you're the head of the program, it's pretty tough to survive something like this. These accusations are coming from lots of players over a span of quite a few years. It's likely that none of these men would've come out and expressed their thoughts and experiences if not for the current climate we are in. Because of that, Kirk would've most likely allowed these types of things to go on. A simple apology and pledge to do better doesn't erase what happened. He's responsible for the entirety of the program.

Kirk Ferentz said he previously was aware of the accusations lobbed against Brian.
-The Athletic.

Yup, saw that.

I saw the comment made by BF about the tattoo one of the players from Detroit got. Didnt see any other detailed tweets about BF other than that one. I did see a couple guys single him out with Doyle saying the change needs to start with them.

Didn't Urban Meyer leave or was asked to leave due to a similar situation? Not context wise, but the fact that he was the one in power that knew of the wrong doings of his assistant and yet did nothing?

Yes, he served a suspension because of Zach Smith, who has since downward spiralled even further.

Something definitely changed at some point during KF's tenure. Maybe it was the Everson/Satterfield rape case along with the City Boyz incident back in 2007.

None of the guys coming out with negative comments played early in KF's tenure. All of them are guys that came into the program at or after the midway point of his career at Iowa.

I posted this yesterday: not a chance in hell Brian didn't hear or see stuff in the weight room as a player and coach.

I thought so. Urban is a slime ball, but that situation right there shows that you are partially responsible for the actions of your assistants, and when you are aware of the negative actions / behavior and do nothing about it, the person in charge is even more responsible.

Honest question but can coaches even be in the weight room with the players?

I thought coaching staff was limited to 15-20 hours per week that they can be with the team. I always thought the S&C staff had way more contact with players than the actual coaches did.

To me it's simple: you pay a guy 5 million dollars a year, and he's responsible for everything that goes on within those doors. Let's pretend for a second he didn't know-- that is, in and of itself, a big problem.
