Kirk Ferentz getting sued for being racist

We haven't seen anything yet on media coverage...Wait until tomorrow and all week. KXNO will be all day with this (if its not then why even have the station?)...National guys on ESPN radio etc will be the lead story.

THis is going to get uglier. Doyle has flat out denied it. This is trending from being taken away from Barta making any decision but to the Iowa BOR. I can see some politicians betting involved and putting a lot of heat on U of Iowa to make major changes.

We'll see plenty of coverage but pay attention to what they say. Because as of now the coverage has been enormously favorable given the terrible accusations. Has any media figure from Iowa even called for a single firing yet?

In a previous post I mentioned a ISU assistant coach making off color comments to us players. The difference here was that we as a Team went to coach Mac and that assistant was gone. Mac didn't tolerate that crap!!!

Thanks for sharing!

Even if Ferentz didn’t know about it, what kind of program culture do you have where many players are afraid to talk to you about issues with an assistant?

I just think using the race of starting QBs as a metric for this is stupid.

Pete Gales, Brad Banks, and Jason Manson. Manson wasn't a regular starter, but started a few games, so I included him since the data point was black QBs who've started more than one game.

It's not really stupid. It's something to look at and consider whether there is racism in a football program. If it were all white qb's over the past 40 years, it'd certainly be something to consider. Since there have been some, it sure doesn't prove that the Iowa football program isn't racist.

This isn't just that hard to figure out.

I looked at Keith Murphy’s Twitter, he’s just been retweeting the bland stories. Spiciest thing he posted was just retweeting Amani Hooker’s latest Tweet. Even Chris hasn’t done much beyond retweeting the official releases and fluff pieces.

Rob Howe appears to be the only one not afraid to ask the tough questions, and he’s getting blown up by the knuckle dragging portion of their fan base for it.

well ISU reporters are afraid of being called biased and making too big of a deal out of it for the rivalry, and the bigger local ones are afraid of getting tons of annoying comments from mouth breathers and losing support. The only people that will be able to push this far is Rob Howe as well as national sports media.

To my recollection, both Wisconsin and Northwestern have only had one black starting QB since 2000.

Didn’t the player in question say he never received a citation from the police? If his teammates committed the same offense - whatever that might be - don’t you think it’s reasonable to think they didn’t get a citation from the police either?

White teammates were ticketed for doing the same thing and had entirely different punishments

I took it to be former players and assumed he is fishing for positive comments to use as reinforcement if anything is tossed at him.
Almost like he is getting job references...and very inappropriate, especially any that might want to explore a coaching career. This is just like him saying that any player can approach him with their issues.

You turn this over to an independent investigation (not appointed by the university) and let them fully investigate any/all complaints.

Control freak...

If an Iowa football player had been ticketed for anything more serious than speeding I’m pretty sure it would have been in the news.

So a black player got suspended for the whole year for something as minor as a speeding ticket while the white players just had to do pencil rolls? Holy ****

The problem, from my view, is that these people were trying to be ********. Defacing the statue of a man that, by all accounts, was a good man and that lost his life in service to his country makes no sense.

I don’t think the people defacing the statue are really considering the man himself and his service. He’s a very tangible symbol of that football program and thus the statue is going to be targeted if you’re looking to make a symbolic statement.

The situation is a little different, but clutching your pearls over the statue smacks a little bit of the “you can’t kneel during the anthem because you are disrespecting the flag” spin.

Daviyon Nixon's Twitter sure is something @Brodie0. We know your thoughts on him
As for Nixon, Alabama offered him sight unseen after watching his highlight video - takes a pretty rare and exceptional talent to warrant that treatment.
He retweeted the thing you just found "funny", tweeted this:

And liked this tweet:

Control freak? Yea, I mean he did learn his craft under Bill Belichick.

Help me out here, I am not very twitter savvy and trying to search it but I can't find one Badger or Wildcat player complaining about the culture of their program.

On its own, this isn't a problem. In light of the pent up contempt for Iowa's hideous culture being released, it is newsworthy.

Yikes on this headline
