Outrage over the vandalism done by people unaffiliated with the players, is merely deflection, as far as I'm concerned. If you want to be mad about it, fine, but some Hawk fans are acting like it invalidates all of the issues that have been brought to light. I hope most people don't fall for that ******** and let them refocus the narrative.
This isn't about a spray painted statue. It's about racism allowed to exist in the football program for far too long.

Yeah the whole topic can become broad quickly. Again, my personal belief is trying to fight hate with a revolution can quickly become an excuse for people who don't actually care to cause harm and destruction. I teach my children two wrongs don't make a right but we also need to open our eyes and listen/reflect.

What you are seeing is Ralphie in the Christmas Story going ape **** after being bullied and tormented by people for a small part of his life. It wasn’t his great grandpas, grandad, dad, cousin, etc it was a small part of his life. Spray paint on African Americans if needed. Hell I will buy the next can. I won’t tell you how to rage. Sorry that I dont think vandalism is okay especually to someone who died for this country even though the country obviously was and is still battling systemic issues. Kinnick still laid it on the line. I think racism is horrible and my heart goes out to those players for what they endured but I personally don't think vandalism is okay.

Back to the thread, Iowa better do more than just put a coach on paid leave if they actually care about this issue.

So I haven't been following this closely until yesterday. But earlier this week didn't Chad L write puff pieces about how great it was that the Captain was talking about race and how his voice was so great for the issue and all of that ****?

Also, a lot of fans (including Iowa State fans) have always talked about how the Captain seems like a great guy and all of that. But he's always been a bit of a **** in my opinion. First the stupid housing thing with Brian. Is it the biggest deal in the world? Of course not. But it shows a real lack of empathy for people that actually need low income housing and it is a bad example. And second the rabdo crap....he only cared that they got caught with that.
