Iowa Football Recruiting

Pretty sure the only commitable offers when he cut it down we’re Nebraska and Iowa State.

Yeah, Twins and other ISU posters use this one all the time on Iowa commits. Used in clear back on Miamen, and used it on a several guys in this class as well.

Lol, of course it was. Link to that knowledge or do you want to save us all some time and just admit right now that you're making that up?

He is just doing what Twins and you and other ISU posters do all the time with Iowa commits with good offer lists.

Why does everything have to be a d*** measuring contest when one team gets a guy? Do people not understand recruiting enough to know that the program itself is not always the reason why a guy commits to the team? Most of the time it's all about fit, even if the kid grew up being a huge fan of the school. If it doesn't feel right, they're going to choose the place that makes them feel more comfortable.

I realize we're on a message board and civil conversations essentially cease to exist, but it's stupid when I see either team get a good commitment and no one can go 5 seconds before someone throws a back handed compliment out there or something snarky / sarcastic.

Also, everyone gets so hung up on every single individual recruit and don't realize that so many of these guys never pan out anyway, and it ends up being someone you either didn't see coming at all within the class, or someone from the class before or the class after that pans out which eliminates the playing time from the individual you believed was going to be great.

ISU this recruiting cycle had a main target at each of the WR positions X, Y, and M. They got their guy at X and M. Iowa beat them for their Y target. You have too tip your cap to them, no having a baseball program obviously hurt there. I am not sure they take another WR this class. There are a few guys they are keeping in contact with but that might be a scholarship they flex into taking an extra DT than they originally planned, since they are in the running for a couple good guys still.

You will have to excuse me for not believing anonymous internet dude and his claims. Nothing personal, hopefully you understand. While I won't mock you for your claim, I'm also not going to believe you either.

If you don't understand that while recruiting certain kids move up and down staffs recruiting boards, I'm not sure what to tell you. The examples are just too numerous of kids saying that Iowa or ISU or whoever just isn't in contact any longer. Kids remove schools from recruiting process and teams remove players off their recruiting boards. Happens literally all the time. Heck according to all the Clone fans here CMC did that very thing to a committed kid in Twedt. So to pretend that Iowa wanted all of the WR they offered exactly the same is silly.

You don’t have to believe me and you don’t need to know who I am. But I can tell you with 100% certainly you’re incorrect. A staff isn’t going to offer a kid then tell him “we’re kinda interested in you but we’re not actually interested in you, unless we don’t get these 4 other guys, then we might come back to you.” No, most staffs will have their guys, if their guys commit elsewhere then they’ll offer new guys they haven’t offered yet. It’s hilarious that once ISU got Jirehl, suddenly his offer to Iowa was non committable. Brock’s better than Goodson so I’m glad he didn’t choose Iowa. Let me guess, Xavier Foster didn’t have a committable iowa offer either?

Things Hok trolls say:
1. "ISU offers everyone. We only offer the recruits that deserve it."
2. "We didn't get that recruit because his offer wasn't committable"
3. "He's better because he has a higher rating"
4. "He's better because he has more P5 offers"

Number 1 and 2 contradict each other. However if you guys only offer 100 kids and 60 of them didn't have commitable offers, that would mean you guys shoot 50% in recruiting... Nick Saban doesn't even get that.

As for 3 and 4, pick a lane.

Yes the recruit with twice as many P5 offers than your best WR recruit moved down Iowa's list lol.

Noel eliminated Iowa Bollers eliminated Iowa. Fidone eliminated Iowa State. This isn't complicated

Noel would be the lowest ranked kid of the Iowa class as it sits now. I am glad clone fans are so excited by him. At least is finally has a recruit that had an Iowa offer.

By all accounts ours is a great kid, a fantastic athlete and getting better every day. He is going to be better than any of the receivers the hoks recruited in my opinion.

Too bad 9 wins is the pinnacle of success that isu has seen in football. That alone make your opinion suspect at best.
