Iowa Football Recruiting

I didn't set a timeline, just used the one that someone else posted and said outright I don't think what was being called a "standard" is really what either program realistically would consider their "standard". If you think the post-Hoiberg standard for ISU is now set at a sweet 16, I feel for you. Going to be a lot of sad March nights from here on out. I could put you in touch with some of the guys on HR that think Iowa should be playing in NY6 bowls every year. Might share some coping strategies or hotline numbers with you.
Again, the sweet 16 is fluid. But I guess we will see.

Breece Hall is a good back. He torched a total joke of a defense in Texas Tech and had a catch that went for over 60. He had a nice season with that one great game. Texas Tech was ranked 1 spot better on defense than another familiar opponent - ULM. #127 and #128 respectively.
Overall pretty comparable stats. Not enough to really say with any degree of certainty who will be better. You like Hall and Hawk fans like Goodson. So be it.

That right there shows how rankings can be flawed. I watched both teams play. TT was by no means a good defense. But they did have a first rounder at LB. They were light years ahead of that ULM D, which was awful.

In my opinion, he likely picks up another offer later in the process and takes that. Going to be a weird recruiting season and just don't see someone who was already unsure coming back and staying with Iowa. Would be nice through, l like his film and would be a huge help in getting his teammate.
I think the weird thing is the timing, IMO. He decommitted and then all the sudden releases a top 4? Very strange to me.

Kind of like how ISU fans are missing the glory days of Hilton Magic and Fred Hoiberg about now. Prohm has destroyed all of that.
I remember way back when we won the Big 12 tournament. Oh wait, that was 2019. Try again bud.

From what I've gathered is he was really uncomfortable with the commitment without the normal visit process. I don't think he's unique in that regard, and we're going to see quite a few decommits this season because of it IMO. Going to be a weird one.

So what other pandemic am I missing where Iowa had a "NCAA quality team"? Fran made the tourney in 2015, 2016, 2019 and probably would have made the tourney this year. That's 4 times not 5

Like you've said a million times the NCAA considers it a tournament appearance.

So you are saying that recruiting rankings are probably going to change quite a bit this year? Will that stop TOE fans from coming here and trying to talk up their team's recruiting rankings? I doubt it. Even though you are admitting here nobody really knows where most of us will land when it's all said and done. Unless you are a top tier team of course like Alabama or Clemson.

Not surprising for ISU fans really. Heck you got some saying right now the ISU basketball standard is the Sweet 16. At the same time they are hoping to sign enough transfers to become a bubble team so they don't miss the NCAA Tournament in 3 out of 4 years.
It must be hard to comprehend a rebuild after losing NBA talent seeing how it's never something Iowa has to deal with on account they never have NBA talent and their program has never left the toilet

I am simply stating that having a NCAA quality team in 5 out of 7 years is decent by everyones standard but a blue blood. To say Iowa has 1 decent year in basketball in 10 years is beyond stupid with 5 NCAA quality teams in 7 years.
As i called you out for lying before, please, tell me the 5 years that Iowa has gone to the tournament in the past 10 years? Cause they haven't. It's been 4

Iowa knows all about losing Professional quality talent, much more so than ISU does. It hurts when you lost 9 early entries into the NFL Draft over 3 years. Iowa hasn't tanked at all, but Prohm has struggled mightily after losing 1 early entry who was NBA draft pick over the last 3 years.

Dude even Twins has said a million times the NCAA counts that as a tournament appearance. Are you seriously trolling that since Iowa didn't make the NCAA when it was canceled as your default here?

Oh we are talking about football now cause you need to move the goal post per usual, got it. Crazy to me that you somehow think losing 9 people (OVER THREE YEARS) on a team of 22 starters is somehow equivalent to losing 2-3 of 5 starters in one year. But then again, you have proven time and time again that you are hands down the most idiotic poster on this forum.

How is it "dropping the ball" with Bollers? Please explain. Cause he has been a HEAVY Wisconsin lean the entire time. Can't wait to hear this crack pot comment from you
Ok - so you're going to get none of the guys on your list? Going to be a disappointing class!! Hate seeing these guys that we didn't have room for (besides Bollers) go to Minn, Wisc., Neb.!!

Really bad effort by CMC.

The tournament didn't happen, so how does it count as an appearance?

Are you talking about the current #10 Ranked Iowa Hawkeye Recruiting class with the following studs onboard?

Colby - Iowa State, Ohio State, Michigan, VT, Nebraska, Michigan State, Minn

Sullivan - Nebraska, Minn

DeJean - Despite being a high 3*, definitely a diamond in the rough.

Johnson - Iowa State, Nebraska, KSU

Liddle - Iowa State, Nebraska, Michigan State, Minn

Stephens - Iowa State, Michigan, LSU, A&M, OkState, Missouri, Arkansas, Minn, Louisville, KSU, KU, Indiana

Dunker - "nobody" - adjl

Brecht - Iowa State, Nebraska, KSU, Kansas

Bowie - Iowa State, Nebraska, KSU, Minn, Indiana, VT

Jeremiah Pittman - Iowa State, Wisconsin, MSU, Minnesota, Missouri, Texas Tech, Northwestern, Illinois, BC, Syracuse

In all seriousness, I expect Iowa to be around 25-30 when it's all said an done. Might slip into the 30-35 range with a few decommits, but still see this being a pretty good class. I'm much more concerned with offers over a recruits "grade", but it's the off-season and gives us something fun to talk about. Even though this is the Iowa Football Recruiting thread, you can share whatever you want for the ISU class as well, been pretty slow here after a crazy April/early May.
