Iowa Football Recruiting

Iowa loses if Slovis doesn't get hurt. Parker had no defense for his deep ball and Iowa couldn't run the ball to keep it away from him

Lol I have no idea what you're talking about. Parker had no answer for Slovis and you couldn't run the ball. You would have been screwed

Weird, Iowa never tailed with Slovis in the game and he played til into the 3rd quarter.

Rasir Bolton was HM all conference as a sophomore who averaged 14.7 points so you saying they're worse versions of him isn't exactly a huge slight. JCL also plays a much different style of basketball as Bolton and is more of a wing.

The point was that Harris, JCL, and Bolton are all low efficiency chuckers with more turnovers than assists. Having one of those guys isn’t a problem. Having your top three guards all fit that archetype is pretty questionable.

What holes do Harris and JCL fill? They are both worse versions of Bolton. All three of those guys are shoot first, second, and third type players, but they are all mediocre at best shooters.
I think some of our fans need to temper their expectations for JCL but he absolutely makes us better. If he sticks to more of a catch and shoot role then I think he can thrive here but if he fancies himself a play maker(which he isn't like Harris) and shoots 32 percent from three again then fans are going to get frustrated with him like Nixon at times.

Well we're just going to have to wait and see what happens I guess. Both are pretty talented players and we needed talented guys.

Yeahbuddy you really suck at judging transfer talent. Maybe sit this one out.

Slovis was definitely the best QB we faced, but our D had him figured out by the time he went down. Between that, USC not being able to stop our offense and our special teams, the outcome wouldn't have been much different if he hadn't gotten hurt.

If only that were true - instead, @CyTwins was using Team Rankings’ strength of schedule metric (the very same metric he mocked earlier today) to claim that Iowa’s strength of schedule sucked.

OMG. Thanks for finding this gem.

Wow I didn't realize how bad Iowa's SOS was. Worse than Clemson, LSU, TCU (gasp), Oklahoma State (double gasp!), Baylor (!!!), Ohio State and Memphis!

Like I said, you have been Cherry Picking for a long, long time now.

So the drive before Slovis went down, he went 2-2 for 65 yards, followed by their running back punching it in for a TD. USC got an onside kick, and Slovis threw his next pass for 10 yards and a first down. Literally the next play, Epenesa sacked him and Slovis got injured. So no, Iowa's D did not have Slovis figured out rather it was the complete opposite. Slovis and USC's offense was finding something in Iowa's defense and all of that got negated by a great play by Epenesa.

The outcome was never in doubt. Best case scenario is USC scores 17 in the 2nd half (like they scored 17 in the first half) when Slovis was on fire. So Iowa would have won 49-34 instead of 49-24.

Thoughts on Smith or Gach? Just want to see how you discredit them in case we end up getting one of them

I was trolling Herky with that link and Benji knows it
