Iowa Football Recruiting

If the Raiders stadium is finished by then. ;)

Would be a cool trip for fans, can't say with where UNLV has been the last couple decades the game would interest me much as a fan, but would be a cool experience. Maybe they'll tack on a couple good seasons to make it more interesting.
Last time we were out there and played UNLV, GIANT party hosted by Hooters. IIRC the CEO was an ISU alum.

But isu fans are the ones pounding their chest for going 8-5 and 7-6 as it that is suppose to impress anyone. See I don’t have to leave anything out with isu. 8-5 is the best you have with your coach. Iowa went 10-3 and 9-4 the last 2 years but you fly right past that. Just like you fly right past KF going 11-2 in his 4th year and being named the AP National Coach is the year.

Do you feel better when you pick and choose the years that should and shouldn’t count for Iowa?

Ain't this the truth. ISU fans like @DhaCheann no only pound their chest over a 7 win seasons, they also claim that a 7 win season is actually an 11 win season if they played a tougher schedule.

That's because they've never been there. When you guys went 8-5, all I heard from Iowa State fans was that the programs were heading in different directions. Guarantee if I look back here, that's what it'll say.
Yes clone fans back then only wanted to talk about the trend and how in a 2 year sample Iowa was going down while isu was going up.

I wonder if it is fair to talk about trends now that isu is going the wrong way? My guess is clone fans like CyTwins and Dhachennan will want to pick and choose what does and doesn’t count.

Just how they roll.

I really trust a guy who thinks Brecht will be the next great TE at Iowa. He seems to really know what he’s talking about

Did you known George Kittle had Brechts exact measurements as a WR coming out of high school? Worked out well there or is this something we need to ignore as well?

Then they lost all 3 of their non-cons that year and clearly learned their lesson lol.
I'm not saying its ideal, I'm saying teams do it.
Numerous posters say no one does.

NW won their division with doing it so it didnt affect their and most team's goal of winning their conference.

It's not THAT common but yes it's done. However, for schools like Iowa State and Iowa, there's really no point to do such a thing. Now, even though there's no benefit doesn't mean it wouldn't be awesome to schedule Mizzou, Colorado or Nebraska in the non-con, because I would honestly be all for that.

We leave the Super Bowl bit to schools that have countdown clocks to Beat Iowa and those where the coach won’t even call Iowa by name.

Better?
ISU has a “Beat (next opponent)” up before every game so that’s a moot point. Also, a current Iowa athlete was quoted as saying ISU is their super bowl so, talk to him if you don’t like it

I hear you man, but you need more than one source. That is why I say the majority of the 5 BCS bowl SOS metrics say Iowa played a tougher schedule than ISU. Do you have 5 sites total (with the majority saying ISU wins 11 games) proving the data? I mean sure I could cherry pick one site that gave me the result I wanted like you, but I try to be fair about the data. I mean if you just said a kid was a 4* cause one site said so, you'd get mocked. So yeah, one source isn't going to cut it.
Hawks literally do this ALL the time lol.

Much like how you pick and choose? That’s literally the only thing you do on here, find something that fits your narrative and avoid facts. Fact of the matter is, Iowa may have gone 11-2 in 2002, but they still lost to ISU that year and Kirk started his coaching career 0-4 vs ISU

I will take 11-2 and a loss to Iowa every day of the week and twice on Sunday lol
