Iowa Football Recruiting

I asked CyTwins that question a few days ago and he refused to answer it. I'm sure he knew the answer but just couldn't make himself type it.
I mean, trolling aside but going like 20 seasons without another P5 non-con would have me losing my mind. The last couple of years have really sucked as far as non-con scheduling, 7th home game guarantee or not. Loved the seasons we played teams like ASU, Arizona, Syracuse, Pitt. Should have been Mizzou in there too, but we all know how that went. I'd personally be furious if the last P5 non-con game I saw besides ISU was 20 seasons ago.

Don’t let that distract you from the fact that Kirk started 0-4 vs ISU
You do realize this argument just sets yourself up for criticism down the road for Iowa fans to claim Matt Campbell isn't that good because he started 0-4 against Iowa right?

No he doesnt. He is obviously new to this thread, it takes years to master it.

If Iowa State would've played those teams in the respective years Iowa did, we would've ended with 2 wins instead of 3 ever year lol. Iowa State did not need to schedule P5 teams when we were awful. I would not be surprised if we got a home and home with a P5 sometime in the future, but Iowa State plays enough good teams throughout the year that they don't need another P5 team on their schedule. Same with Iowa honestly.

I am not sure USC wasn’t the best in 2002. I believe they would have beaten either Miami or Ohio State in the title game had they played. I say that as USC won the AP title the next year.

They couldn’t even beat ISU that year yet you think they would have won the national championship?! Oh boy, you’ve really gone off the deep end.

yeah with ISU and Iowa playing 10 P5 games a year, there is no need to schedule other P5 games.

nobody is going to schedule 11 P5 games. Would be fun but it's not happening. I honestly wouldn't mind seeing Iowa vs ISU going to every other year to allow for some different matchups.

If anyone is claiming Ferentz isn’t a good coach because he started 0-4 vs ISU, then they don’t know good coaching. I realize I’m purely stating facts but saying he started 0-4 vs ISU..and he’s still a damn good coach 16 years later. But he started 0-4. Those be the facts

I know the strategy behind it, I get it. But there were years during Dan's tenure, Chiz's tenure, and Rhode's tenure that there was enough "momentum" building you'd think something would have been lined up for the future. It's not like after a 7 win season they'd expect they'd be right back to 3 wins and a new coach in 2 years.

It just honestly surprised me to see that stat, honestly thought it was hyperbole.

Yeah I mean in theory that would be cool, but I honestly love the Iowa State-Iowa rivalry and think it should be annual. Also, I couldn't imagine the dumb arguments on here about who was better when they didn't even play one another.

Flat out lie.

Northwestern did just 2 years ago when they won the division.
