Iowa Football Recruiting

There's a big difference between being good or "universally considered one of the best in all of CFB"

Nice try moving the goalposts. @iahawks posted this:

Crazy. Of all things Iowa, Phil Parker is the last person I would try to make a troll about. He is the only person I've ever heard say that Parker isn't a good coach or recruiter, with the results being the exact opposite over 20 years.

And you responded with this:

He's never won an outright conference title in 20 years! Lol cmon

So once again, you don't think anyone is a good coach if they haven't won an outright P5 conference championship. So tell me about CMC and staff then.

Sounds like he still would have liked to play for the Hawks, but can’t because of NCAA Regulations.
Iowa did right by him though and kept him on scholarship

Lol Iowa worked with him so he didn’t count against their scholarship numbers....heroes

Obsessed much?
Looks like you might even like Iowa more than Twins does. 93 of your last 100 posts are in ISR threads about Iowa. Add in the three others about an Iowa player entering the portal and you're at 97. That's impressive!

I'm guessing Twins at leasts posts a little bit about ISU, maybe not though. You ever been to a game in IC? I think you'd like it Brandon.

#SuperBowl
How long should clone fans be patient with Campbell being unable to get his players ready for the Iowa game?

Campbell refuses to call Iowa by name and he has the Beat Iowa countdown clock so clearly he cares about the game. It makes it that much more puzzling that he can’t translate this to his team.

Yeah that's not how it went down. He stated Parker was universally considered one of the best DB coaches in CFB

You are basing that off beating at team that went 5-4 in conference by 1. Talk about mauling.

According to Sagarin, the clone fan go to, isu would have gone 7-6 with Iowa’s schedule and Iowa would have been 10-3 with isu’s.

Feel better?

Dang, really feel sorry for him. Sounds like he wanted to stay a Hawk, but those pesky NCAA rules got in the way. There should be an exception for his case though. Hopefully he finds a good home somewhere else, even if it isn't where he would want to be.

I'm still confused some, if he was still on scholarship, what rule prevents a player from playing after not playing for a season or two? If you have a football scholarship, you should have the ability to play. Or did the "retirement" part become the part that caught him. I think if someone retires due to injury, they can stay on scholarship but can't play again. Maybe that is what caught him.

Beats me too. I don't even try to understand NCAA rules.

Iowa State would have won 10 games last year with Iowa's schedule. What's your point?

Not according to Sagarin, the clone fan go to. Is there any other power ranking that has isu winning 10 games with Iowa’s schedule or just another clone fan myth?

link?

They converted his regular football scholarship to one they created a few years ago where the athletic department pays tuition but the player can never play for the school again. The purpose of those schollys is for players who suffer career ending injuries, so that they don’t count against scholarship limit for the school but the kid isn’t getting his financial aid pulled either. If they didn’t make the rule about playing at the school again teams would just put injured freshman on those scholarships so they would have room for transfers then convert them back the next season.

Yeah, I knew there was something like that and wondered if that was it. That is probably why they said he "retired" because that allowed it. I would think that he would have an idea where he is going if he knew there was no chance to play there.

The clarification tweet was definitely something Iowa compliance made him send. If Iowa has worked with him on a false injury on the forms he submitted for his medical scholarship that would be clear NCAA violation.

You think Heflin is even remotely the same level of recruit as Miller? Yikes

According to ESPN Heflin is the # 7 best return DL production wise for 2020. I can’t find anything saying the same about Miller.

I am sure you and enlighten us though.
