Iowa Football Recruiting

I wouldn't say that at all. The only thing that even hurts a little is DJ transferring out, but outside of injuries he wasn't going to play a ton anyways next year. Would have been nice for depth and for experience though.

If Iowa loses out on Heflin, then that would be really bad news imo. I wonder if it is already a done deal though.

Yeah losing DJ isn't great, I think he could have been a good one eventually. I'm hearing Heflin is a done deal, just gonna take awhile before the announcement.

Heflin would be a big deal.

Lost the DB with all the offers, then lose DJ Johnson because apparently Riley Moss is better and now this Ball State kid? Yikes!

Not worried about DB's at all. Phil will find and develop some zero star kid into the next Thorpe winner, yet again.

Not sure most Iowa fans would have traded Johnson for Heflin with Iowa's lack of depth in the secondary

I would have gladly! DJ wasn't going to be a starter next year, I was hoping for good things his Jr and Sr years though. Helfin would be a much bigger and better deal for Iowa.

I’m not a big fan of this offer, but it’s tough to recruit the QB position when you have a stud like Petras as a sophomore and two freshmen with Georgia offers. They could definitely do worse at QB than a taller version of Brock Purdy. He’ll have to improve his arm strength if he wants to play in the Big Ten though.

B+

Everyone backed off the second he committed to Iowa since they know he can't be flipped and is solid with Iowa. Every now and then a school comes sniffing around but Cooper shoots them down quick. Thus no other offers.
