It wasn't lucky. And I wouldn't say Iowa dominated. But you guys did have the advantage of going against a defensive backfield of 2nd and 3rd teamers all game.
I forgot how decimated our defensive backfield was at that time.

Stanley drove the team 44 yards in 26 seconds to set up the game winning FG. Talk about a clutch performance!
No he was 11-24 for 99 yards.
Doesn’t matter. A game winning drive still takes guts and poiseLol against a terrible Nebraska team

Like I said. Iowa is just built to overcome bad calls and adversity. Stanley was definitely clutch in that game...and then had a great send-off against USC.Stanley drove the team 44 yards in 26 seconds to set up the game winning FG. Talk about a clutch performance!

Do you think Iowa was a terrible football team?I've seen Brock Purdy and Kyle Kempt do it many times. Never seen the 11-24 got 99 yards vs a terrible team though

Yeah. It was pretty thin. Great adjustments by Parker to close out the game. Also, that play where Koerner decided not to intercept Purdy's errant throw towards end of the game was huge.I forgot how decimated our defensive backfield was at that time.

I don't really know those fans. I liked Nate and am really stoked about Petras. But yet Iowa fans are happy to see him leave

To be honest idk what it is with NE. These last few years they just really just suck until Iowa. Must be their Super Bowl I guessNo. Nebraska was though

Lol niceYeah that was crazy the two calls the refs gave to Nebraska in that game. Yet Iowa overcomes two horrible calls to win the game. That is what good teams and clutch QB's do. I mean imagine if instead of redeeming himself after a horrible call, Stanley instead throws it right to a DB on 4th down ala Purdy. I suppose then we would be crying like crazy saying the refs cost us the game when in reality it would have been our QB that cost us the game.
If I remember correctly, Iowa went 3 and out that next possession.. So what exactly did that do?Yeah. It was pretty thin. Great adjustments by Parker to close out the game. Also, that play where Koerner decided not to intercept Purdy's errant throw towards end of the game was huge.

Not to be a **** or really anything but how many game winning drives has Kempt or Purdy engineered?I've seen Brock Purdy and Kyle Kempt do it many times. Never seen the 11-24 got 99 yards vs a terrible team though
Really excited about Petras. Not sure if you knew this (maybe I'm bringing some good intel to the board), but he went to same high school as Jared Goff and ended up breaking many of his HS passing records. Just some insane stats. I also believe he had offers from Michigan and Louisville, but really could care less....Iowa swooped in and got him. If he can win as many games as Stanley, I will be happy.Oh yeah you're new here. The consensus on here from Iowa fans is that if they had the choice between one more year of Stanley or the Oregon State kid they'd take the Oregon State kid
