Iowa Football Recruiting

That’s the worst average composite in the Big12 and 5th worst in all of P5.
I don't really care. It's May. I don't understand how you Hawk trolls don't understand that lol.

But if you're so stuck on that and you saw the fact I posted, then are you saying that the last 2-3 years that the recruiting class was, in your words, god awful?

I would say the Big 10 West and the Big 12 were very similar last year. Both had three ranked teams with the Big 10 West having three in the top 15. Big 12 had 6/10 make a bowl and the Big 10 West had 4/7 make a bowl. Very similar last year.
3 of the 4 didn't play a P5 noncon. It's not similar at all.

Ask ND if it was a good bowl game and let me know what the answers would be?
A good game for us is different than a good game for them.. I mean when we played Wazzu in the Alamo Bowl, they felt like they should've gotten a shot for a NY6 too. Notre Dame no doubt felt like they should've been playing in a better bowl game, but that doesn't take anything away from the fact that we had to play them.

You can't look at it from Iowa State's perspective, see #12 Notre Dame and think "Well this is a crappy bowl game we got" lol.

I'm talking about how bowls are viewed in general. I would never go into the season and think the Camping World Bowl or the Pinstripe Bowl are good bowls to go to.

I’m sure you were on here 8 usernames ago talking about how Montgomery, Rose, Kolar, Newell, Hummel, Vance, Shaw, etc were part of these terrible classes but it’s all just wishful thinking.
I posted the facts before. I re-quoted the same message for him that we are literally .01 off last years number yet he is still wants to stick with that garbage take nor do they want to even slightly acknowledge that its MAY nor do they even want to talk about or acknowledge that COVID has effected how these guys are rated. These people can't be helped.

Yet we had a much more difficult schedule

Those literally were not my words lol.

Your class is 2/3 full and it doesn't appear anyone good is going to hop on board. Can't really blame them though.

There are flaws in any system. I'm not going to look it up, but I'm sure Sargarin would call Minnesota a "good win". They were not good. But SOS can get inflated when you pillow fight each other in a weak division. I think any unbiased legitimate football fan would say that the Big 12 was much more difficult than the Big 10 West last year.

So what SOS metric are you using to say isu was so awesome?

Just give us a link.

it is May but over 770 kids have already committed to schools compared to under 350 at this point last year. Where will isu get all these magically ranked kids between now and signing day?

Camping World is probably better than the Pinstripe Bowl but I understand what you're saying. Taken at face value, those are not exciting bowl games to go to, however because of how bowl games choose matchups, one year you could have garbage teams, while the next you have a top-25 matchup. I would reckon to say that the best team we've played out of the last 3 bowl games has been Notre Dame, however the best bowl game we've played in is obviously the Alamo Bowl. It doesn't always align perfectly.

Either way, the teams we've played the last 3 years have been pretty darn good compared to playing Minnesota and Rutgers in a bowl game.

I would be curious to hear your rankings of “good” bowl games. ISU’s lowest rated bowl opponent under Campbell was ranked as high as the highest rated team Iowa has played since the Rose Bowl.

I think you are just talking about Iowa's bowl opponents but it does not seem that way with how you phrased this.

Trying to compare the Camping to the Pinstripe is dumb.
Pinstripe started in 2010. They've had two ranked teams total.
Since 2010 the Camping has had twelve.
Since 2010 the Outback has had thirteen.

You tell me which bowl the Camping is closer to.

Curious what you don’t like about Pittman, other than the obvious (he committed to Iowa). He’s explosive and has a quick first step and violent hands. Even 247 says the only question with Pittman is whether he can gain enough weight, but that shouldn’t be a problem with Iowa’s strength and conditioning program.
You guys don't know how to read...

I never said "I don't like Jeremiah Pittman", I just said "He's meh". I like him, but he's not at the caliber of Howard Brown.

Plus, He plays for Viator

You're so clueless it honestly hurts my brain talking to you. You still didn't even answer my question
